Doll Strings

Doll Strings

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Back and forth, we slide

Your sword slices and healing

With a teeter-totter effect

Dizzy, the life around me spins

Somehow managing to stay standing

I die, and I rise

But no longer do I feel

Like more than an animated doll

"but not longer do I feel" true.

Short, but far from sweet... in a good way.

I enjoy how you employ darkness to get your point across; I can relate, finding myself unable to write anything wholly happy. Even though the poem is only a single stanza, it perfectly wraps the reader arounds its bitter and warped reality. One can almost feel the dismal and dizzying images swirling around them as they read. Very well done.
