Blindman's BlissA Poem by OtherWorldWoman
I sit in the darkness
and wait for time to stop As it goes on I wonder how to follow My heart Was not made Of the same materials My soul was not meant To live in such a time And my spirit lacks the strength To wade Through the waters of this constipated life I wander out Into the light Into the day The fall of sun and drench of rain Both mysterious Timeless I look out past the concrete rows padded pavement Buildings, roads At winding vines and mountains high Draping willow silhouettes Sunset sky My teardrops hide Inside my mind And I pretend to smile At the things These humans take pride in I smile for their sake Their ignorance And the bliss that trails behind it I do not tell them About the blindfold Removing it Would do nothing But cause pain Their spirits Are slowly engulfed By a self-deceiving force The blind Cannot see such things The paralyzed Will not feel The deaf Cannot hear such things Who can tell what is real? Their spirits Are slowly engulfed By a dark and empty purpose © 2011 OtherWorldWoman |
