The Torture of a Sensitive Soul

The Torture of a Sensitive Soul

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Blood bubbles between my teeth
And curdles beneath my tongue
It boils away the anger you gave
Its scarlet fumes inside my lungs

Your hatred takes me hostage
Sword to my side
Nothing helps me more, my friend
Than threatening me to die

How many times have you smashed
The now sallow face of my soul
Destroying this fleshy host
Will only give me more control

This would be good to have read at a spouse abuse shelter. I was a battered wife and ran 1000 miles to be safe..Brings back unpleasant memories,,Kathie
