Defining the Gap

Defining the Gap

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

The air is cool
and jagged
the surface is above
where we can breathe
we are submissive
to the emotions we feel
the underground
railroad
overflows with the ones
we dare not approach
ravenous in their anger
in their joy towards
painful infliction
curious in their extrinsic
ways in relation
to our zaftig selves
The corpuscles of
our carnality
a luxurious subsistence
a delectable dessert
The lapse of Earth
between our kinds
impels the divine will
palming continuance
of beating crimson hearts
the deluge of sanguine fluids
An ephemeral calm
Not a second races by
with the peaceful absence
of a perpetually paranoid
apperception
