Trepidation & BlissA Poem by OtherWorldWomanThis poem is dedicated to my stepfather, Dave, in light of his passion for diving.
Submersed beneath the intimidating boundaries
of life and death gazing down at the darkened dearth below me my heart begins to hammer against my chest ten times harder and I resist the violent urge to shatter through the surface above me or is it below me? Which way is up and which way is down? A hand pulls me downward encouraging me to move pressure increases quickly breath faint and irregular mind electrifies with raging terror and wild thrill as I swim down further bubbles whirling around me chest releases tension replacing it with pleasure and freedom. © 2010 OtherWorldWomanReviews
