Death with Life

Death with Life

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

life sits side by side with death:
each moment another stolen breath
old bones lie betwixt the weeds
slowly degrading, fertilizing seeds

even here joy can exist
where once was, now is missed
for though the loss brings us strife
death is what gives way to life

If you don't mind me saying: the musicality in the second stanza could use some tweaking, but the poem - short and bittersweet - is profound and powerful!! Wonderful! Well done!
