‘It doesn’t make sense for us to include Golf TV in the Extreme Sports package.’
‘There are people who subscribed to Extreme Sports just because of the golf tournaments,’ another employee reasoned.
‘But golf isn’t an extreme sport. It’s as mild as sports go.’
‘Guys,’ Jake ran his hand through his hair. ‘We’ll preview Golf TV to subscribers of the Extreme Sports package, and then at the end, they’ll be able to choose whether they want to pick the Extreme Sports or Just Sports package.’ He tapped his pen on the table as his employees discussed everything.
He couldn’t concentrate. Her taste was still on his lips, in his brain. She’d looked so shaken, and he – he was her boss. He was supposed to be taking care of her, protecting her from her stalker. Not making out on her after a friendly date.
She had to know that he was attracted. He was sure that she wasn’t aware just how much.
The meeting drew to a close, and soon, Jake was on his way home. It was a sweltering day. He undid his tie as he walked in.
Julia was out shopping with her friend, so he figured he would take a shower, cool himself off, try and get his head on straight.
            ‘Oh, sweet lord.’
She would’ve blushed, but she was stuck between amusement and arousal. He was all long limbs and bronze muscle against the pure white of the towel slung dangerously low on his narrow hips.
The horror on his face was absolutely hysterical.
            ‘I was just – taking a shower.’
‘Yeah, I can tell.’ She gestured at the plumes of steam coming out of the bathroom. He shifted his weight.
A single drop travelled over his muscular torso and disappeared into the towel. It was a wonder, she thought, swallowing, that it didn’t evaporate.
He watched her gaze skim over him and latch onto his. ‘Your hair looks great.’
‘Mm, it’s shorter,’ she shook her head experimentally.
            ‘Had fun shopping?’
‘Yeah,’ she held up her bags, making sure he got a good glimpse of the Victoria’s Secret bag. She watched his Adam’s apple bob. ‘I got ingredients for braised beef.’
            He nodded.
‘You should go put a shirt on,’ she said, walking towards her room. ‘I’ll get dinner started soon.’ He settled on the edge of his bed. Cold showers didn’t help. All the blood had drained from one head to another. He slipped off his towel.
