Jar of Tears

Jar of Tears

A Poem by Chelsea

Jar full of tears

The sounds of tears dropping down my face

is the sweet lullaby that drifts me off to sleep

For tears, have no care

They will seep whenever

Leaving you bare

They will haunt you until you confront them

But only if you dare

I collect not one but two

Jars of tears every night

With hell in plain sight

For I cannot confront my tears

I hide behind a buffer

So, no one can see my tears

No one can see me suffer

But one day I will break free

I promise you,

I will run with glee

But until that day, I wipe my tears clean

My face will stay full of sorrow

Full of pain

I will forever have

A tearstain

Such deep sadness seems to come from disappointments that won't heal. Your poem illustrates the depth of despair that can drag one down. Well expressed and meaningful...

The themes and the sorrow are so tangible and so consuming. This poem calmed me, made me really slow my brain down and bask in the sincerity of its message. The rhythm certainly added a great effect, and I like the subtle ways you used rhyme throughout the piece.
"With hell in plain sight" was probably my favorite line, the way the problem the character is avoiding is transformed into an ominous place.
I also appreciated the tears being personified as entities to be confronted, much like a demon might be exorcised. This fit perfectly with the mentioning of Hell.
And a good ending to boot. Bravo.

This poem is quite thoughful and longing for an end to whatever is causing you pain. The message, that whatever we experience leaves a mark on us, is expressed very well, and the flow and style is terrific. Great writing.

Beautiful truth laid bare in the honesty of your words, sorrow makes a beauty its home, with a fluid rhythm your poetry is a masterpiece of emotional despair. Yearning to have the strength found in embracing release you hide them, for fear of the shame you think they bring. Your words are raw and filled with defeat and a finality, tired and weary your words hold the pain you feel in your marrow, stunningly pain filled, love it, the imagery holds such perfection.
