THE LOCK DOWNA Story by SAYED THANGALThe poem presents the severe condition that prevails all over the world, due to coroa virus
Out from the hospitals everyday
Hundreds of stretchers are taken away The shrouded corpses to jumbo trucks Without tags on the lifeless legs. The cold wind lashes unbothered, Deprived of their last rites, Bodies of bodies are disposed of None by the side to alleviate the painful ones No ceremonies, no relatives, no friends to witness. Radiant red roses, just like a painted picture on a panel Welcome the deceased The aura furnishes no fragrance Fortunate enough to be properly buried. No luminous lights to cherish, desperate to Warm tired bones in broad day light At homes, everybody is quarantined, The wheels of lives in confusion confined. Discoloured eyes and fretful faces Lamenting lips utter mere fragranted phrases Same the scenes, here and there, no difference Shielded under the roof, a symbol of defence. Tweets, newspapers, and television updates Focus on the burning issue, primarily to educate The masses violating the law of social distance, Government funds and all other cost-effective sources Target to tackle the fatal circumstances. Thousands of soldiers with fully equipped warships Wait for an order to exterminate the enemy But the equipments are outdated actually And their experiences are worn out The virus, no longer unfamiliar to any culture No language, no religion remains untouched Unlike yesterday, the world is one today Governments, medical teams, police the stars of the sky The real title-holders, let's assist them to fly high. © 2020 SAYED THANGALAuthor's Note
