AS DOLLSA Poem by SAYED THANGALDolls never become humans, but humans some times become dolls.AS DOLLS Reclining the tired forehead on the table The call from the kitchen startled him His mother, not for tea But him to remind , To 'read' and 'do home work', From out sounds the car , In full dress , suitcase in hand , Father - moving straight to the boy's room ! 'Home work completed' ? Before an answer comes , 'Do it and make it fast' Distant jubilant voices of children Sharpen the brightness of the evening , 'Do they call me' ? 'no , they won't' , A sigh , deep , within ! Smile innocent turned into frown With eyes dim and gloomy Heaviness sinking the heart down As bundles of books blocking the walk straight ! A doll has he become Lying on a baby's lap. Everything around watches But dumb to speak Like a lamb so meek ! sayed thangal
