I'M BLIND HENCE FOTUNATE

I'M BLIND HENCE FOTUNATE

A Poem by SAYED THANGAL
"

Think always positive, never curse anything what ever it may be.

"

Beautiful, ugly,worse and better

Consider not me, as you do,

To me you all alike,

Fortunate I'm for being blind !

Rough, harsh, discrimination,dislike

To those, being black, it's you.

Tender touch, I feel them all alike

How fortunate I'm !

No preference to day or night

Same to me , unlike you

Enjoy the full moon every night

But once in a month to you.

Birds' songs, murmuring water falls

Melodious, of course, so sweet

Open my eyes, within, always

Oh ! I'm blind hence fortunate !

A wonderful poem, Sayed, and so good for the blind to think this way. In many ways they are fortunate, but the essence here is much the same as contained in my poem, Little Josephine, if I may make a comparison, because in your poem, the blind person is being strong and concentrating on the good things about their disability. Blindness gives ability, as does every disability. Thanks for this one Sayed.

This is a wonderful poem sayed,we rely on our sight to make our first impressions of people and form judgements. What if we could not see?everyone would be equal by our measure.Great intuitive poem:)

What a lovely reflection on how damaging superficial considerations are, Sayed, and things which can be appreciated without seeing. A lovely poem!
