Kingdoms for Horses

Kingdoms for Horses

A Poem by JT Bateman
"

I have no clue what this was about.

"

liquid hooves bring storms
in shallow spoons we spin again
drift the will from banana peels and
the massive takeapart

kingdoms for horses all i can say
from thoughts of ice and snow
bring me the berries of peace to swallow
without the bitter bitter taste

dance along the fingers of demi-gods
faces of zeroes on the paycheck
of the worlds biggest man
do we have no one to bury our heads in

someday neighborhoods become one house
strangers bursting in your door
take my kingdom for the shoulder of a horse
keep it to yourself of course, bloodied

i love you bitter fruit i never taste
taken from the whim of barstools and forget-me-nots
once again bent again
taken affirmative on the floor

forever
