BAPTISM BY FIRE
by Rïén Kelso Thrown to the wolves, And every bite, my flesh tears me. Tears me apart from this vicious life, That I’m involved in. No mercy, no power, Why did I sign up for this? I never had a chance to consider, If all of this is even worth it. I hear your reservations quite clearly. It is never what I thought would be. You’re clever enough to figure it out. Just keep pushing through, you’ll see. Next there is fire, A flame so wide, it engulfs me. Let me out, my doubts. Just watch me swing, and scream, and shout. There is nothing here for me. There is no future, Only misery. A screaming mediocrity. Titanic armageddon, Nothing will keep you down, As long as you try. Just keep up with what you see. No goals except for what I make for myself, But even those have a good chance of being shot down. I cry, I never asked for any of this. Thanks for pushing me out the door. Here the crackling from the roaring fire, That’s the sound of ingenuity. It may be quiet and non existent, But it’s there. Eventually you’ll fall but that’s okay. Failure is only option for what you give up. Forget what they say, they’re blind to successful qualities. They can only keep you down if you let them. I may be waking up now. I want to go to bed. And wake up before the dawn, I’ll do that instead. Follow my writing at LiveJournal!
