The Hours Before DawnA Screenplay by Eric Richard Back in my sophmore year of high school I wrote this screenplay it turned out very similar to SCREAM being what was used as my inspiration at the time FADE IN INT. HOUSE �" LIVING ROOM - NIGHT SARAH is on the computer ON THE SCREEN: The screen name “StaphylinusOlens666” appears reading: “Hi Jason” SARAH types on the keyboard the screen name appears: “Charlyflower1896” SARAH (V.O) Who’s this? MAN’S VOICE (V.O) You tell me The cursor is moved onto the X of the box. CLICK. The box is closed. BACK TO SCENE The phone RINGS. SARAH picks up the phone. A MAN’S VOICE is heard. MAN’S VOICE Who is this? SARAH Who are you trying to reach? MAN’S VOICE What? SARAH looks puzzled SARAH Well, why did you call? MAN’S VOICE I didn’t call…my phone was the one ringing SARAH Well if you didn’t call then why was my phone ringing? MAN’S VOICE I don’t know SARAH Just forget it She hangs up the phone and walks back to the computer. ON THE SCREEN: A box appears with the screen name “StaphyOlens666” reading: “DL YLU WANT TO D: E” SARAH types, the screen name “Charlyflower1896” appears. SARAH (V.O) What do you want? A red message appears MAN’S VOICE (V.O) I’m coming SARAH types on the computer SARAH (V.O) Coming for what? MAN’S VOICE (V.O) For you of course The cursor is moved onto the X of the box. CLICK. The box is closed. BACK TO SCENE The phone begins to RING. SARAH approaches the phone. SARAH Hello? The MAN’S VOICE from before answers MAN’S VOICE (Creepy) I’m coming SARAH hangs up the phone still holding it when the doorbell CHIMES SARAH Who’s there? The phone RINGS. The phone flies out of SARAH’S hand. SARAH approaches the phone in pieces still RINGING. She answers the phone. SARAH Hello? MAN’S VOICE (Serious) What did I say? SARAH Leave me alone (Screaming) What do you want from me? SARAH is terrified. MAN’S VOICE If you don’t want me to keep calling you go back onto the computer. SARAH walks over to the computer ON THE SCREEN A message box opens with the same screen name from before reading: “I’m here” BACK TO SCENE SARAH gets up from the chair and walks down the hall. A brick is thrown into the back door. Glass is shattered over the floor. SARAH kneels to look at the brick. INSERT - THE BRICK A message in blood drips across the white surface reading: “What did I tell you”? BACK TO SCENE SARAH looks across her shoulder at the cracked window and sees a head roll across the back lawn spluttering blood over the grass. SARAH breathes HEAVILY as a door SLAM is heard. SARAH jumps onto her feet and runs towards the front door. The Doorbell CHIMES. SARAH (Panicking) Just leave me alone. Sarah looks through the window and sees a dark figure holding a knife. Sarah runs down the hall nearly slipping on the hardwood floors. The lights start to flicker on and off. MAN’S VOICE I want to play a game! The lights go out when a SCREAM is heard. A dark figure’s hand flicks the light switch as the lights resume. SARAH lies dead on the floor covered in blood, a shattered lamp lies next to her. INT. HOUSE - BEDROOM �" NIGHT JACLYN stares into her closet. The breeze enters the room from the window. A MAN’s hand grabs the windowsill. JACLYN SCREAMS. The bedroom door opens. The MAN’s hand quickly jumps back from the window Mr. SHAVONE What’s wrong Jackie? JACLYN Nothing is wrong JACLYN breathes HEAVILY JACLYN Why do you ask? JACLYN twiddles with her hair. MR. SHAVONE Okay, I thought I heard a scream-- JACLYN No you didn’t. MR. SHAVONE You sure you are all right? JACLYN Yea…I’m fine THE MAN’s hand emerges onto the windowsill JASON That was a close one JACLYN turns toward the window. JASON enters through the window. JACLYN What are you doing here? JASON I came to see you. JACLYN Was the police chasing you again? JASON No…I told you I stopped that a long time ago. I never broke that promise. JACLYN I’m glad you did…listen is there something you need? JASON No I told you. I came here to see you JASON gets up from the floor. JACLYN Could it wait? I’m tired and we have finals tomorrow. JASON Yea I know. But listen I think it’s time we did…you know. JACLYN I’m not ready yet. JASON Yea but think about it. You and I together, we can leave this place. JACLYN The year isn’t over. JACLYN rubs her hand through Jason’s evil looking hair. JACLYN This will pass…they always do. JASON But I think it’s time that we followed through with something. A continuous BANG is heard. JACLYN Who can that be at this hour�"- JASON Are you seeing someone else? JACLYN Don’t be ridiculous. Why would you think that? Maybe it’s Mom! The constant BANG becomes louder. JALCLYN approaches the door. JASON No…let your father get it. The sound of WATER RUNNING is heard. JACLYN Can you see who it is from there? JASON No JACLYN Mom�"- JASON Jaclyn, your mom was kidnapped. JACLYN Kidnapped…more like mom napped. JACLYN CRIES. JASON It’s been five years
JACLYN But they never did find her body…they didn’t find any trace of her. Maybe she is still alive! JASON I don’t think so The constant BANG grows louder. JACLYN rushes out of the room JASON Jaclyn no! JACLYN turns towards JASON JACLYN Jason! This is the only way to find out JACLYN rushes towards the stairs when the phone RINGS. JACLYN freezes in her tracks. She makes her way back to the bedroom. JACLYN Jason? JACLYN enters the room and finds JASON has gone. The window left open a breeze blows through the drapes. The phone continues to RING. JACLYN answers the phone. JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE (Creepy) Hello! JACLYN What do you want? MAN’S VOICE I want to see you. JACLYN hangs up the phone and TOSSES it onto her bed. The phone RINGS. JACLYN answers the phone. JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello JACLYN What do you want? (Shouting) Jason! JACLYN searches for JASON MAN’S VOICE Your boyfriend can’t help you now. JACLYN How do you know he’s my boyfriend? MAN’S VOICE I also can tell you where he is…listen JACLYN hears DESPERATE PLEAS from JASON through the phone JACLYN Where is he…what do you want from him? MAN’S VOICE I want a little chat. Why don’t you look out the window. JACLYN looks out the window and sees a pool of blood covering the sidewalk. JACLYN What is it that you want? MAN’S VOICE It’s not Jason I’m after. He’s my way of getting to my target…you! JACLYN freaks out. She shivers as she sits in the corner. The lights go out. A few seconds pass when the lights resume. A BUSY SIGNAL is heard from the phone. She looks at the alarm clock, the numbers blinking. JACLYN catches her breath. She looks through the blinds out the window pondering. JACLYN (Quietly) Jason…where are you? JACLYN sits on her bed CLUTCHING her pillow to her chest. JACLYN CRIES. INT. HOUSE - BEDROOM �" DAY JACLYN awakes. JACLYN approaches the bathroom when the phone RINGS. JACLYN is terrified. She cautiously answers the phone. MANDY (V.O) Hello JACLYN Hi Mandy
MANDY Hey, I was wondering about this weekend JACLYN About your party MANDY Yea. Did you think about it?
JACLYN Well I don’t know�"- MANDY Why not? JACLYN Some creep kept calling last night. MANDY Hey, did you talk to Jason last night at all? JACLYN Yea he was here last night…why do you ask? MANDY He was mentioned in some murder case last night�"- JACLYN Is he dead? MANDY Dead? They think he’s a killer JACLYN How would he be a killer? MANDY You know Sarah Brown? JACLYN Yea I know her. What does that have to do with Jason being a killer? MANDY Sarah was the girl they think he murdered. JACLYN How was she murdered? MANDY No one really knows JACLYN Hold on! I’ve got someone on the other line JACLYN switches the line. The MAN’S VOICE from before answers JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello Jackie, do you remember me from last night. JACLYN What did you do with Jason? MAN’S VOICE You’ll find Jason during the day I’m sure. A CLICK is heard from the phone. JACLYN switches back to MANDY JACLYN Mandy, it’s starting again! MANDY What? JACLYN The creep from last night called he said something about Jason MANDY What did he say? JACLYN He said I’d find Jason during the day…he was sure of it. MANDY Oh my god. Is he all right? JACLYN I don’t think so. MANDY So Jason is not a killer? JACLYN No he may be a target if he isn’t one already. MANDY What happened last night? JACLYN Some one was at the door. I went to go answer it and then Jason was gone and some creep was on the phone. MANDY Oh wow! I’ll see you at school okay. Bye JACLYN hangs up the phone. She grabs her bag and her jacket and heads out the door. EXT. SCHOOL �" DAY JACLYN approaches MANDY. The STUDENTS are walking onto campus. JACLYN Hi MANDY Hi…so the killer got Jason? JACLYN Yea. I don’t know how though. MANDY Exactly what did happen? JACLYN As I said earlier, I left the room to get the door and the phone began to ring. I went to my room and Jason was gone. MANDY And the killer called you this morning? JACLYN And last night too MANDY and JACLYN are approaching the entrance as reporters SWARM the campus. JACLYN I never thought something like this would happen here MANDY Yea I know right MANDY and JACLYN walk past a REPORTER talking to a camera. REPORTER Just last night Sarah Brown was found murdered in her home and Jason Shanowski mysteriously disappeared. JACLYN I can’t believe Sarah Brown was murdered. MANDY She would be the last one you expect would be killed…I have to find my guidance counselor; I’ll see you tonight? JACLYN Yea all right (Weakly) See you later MANDY leaves. JACLYN approaches STEVE. JACLYN How is it going? STEVE All of this is such a shock JACLYN I’m so sorry JACLYN pats STEVE’s BACK STEVE It didn’t quite work out between us. JACLYN and STEVE sit down on a bench nearby. JACLYN Is everything okay? STEVE I guess. You just don’t think something this big would happen here. JACLYN I know…are you going to Mandy’s party tonight? STEVE I guess I’ll be there. JACLYN The worst part of all this is how nobody is suspected. STEVE How was everything between you and Jason? JACLYN Everything was good…until he was taken away from me. I hope he is still alive but I know he won’t be. JACLYN and STEVE look at each other. They kiss. JACLYN gets up from the bench. STEVE I’ll see you later? JACLYN Yea, I’ll be at Mandy’s. Bye JACLYN leaves. STEVE slumps on the bench, his head lowered as his hands cover his hair. STEVE SIGHS. INT. SCHOOL �" HALLWAY �" DAY JACLYN rushes towards MANDY who is at her locker putting her books away. JACLYN The best thing just happened! MANDY What…what happened? JACLYN Steve and I made out-- MANDY Steve Taylor? JACLYN Yes! MANDY How could that be he just lost his girlfriend. JACLYN He said it didn’t work out between them MANDY Well still. And you just lost your boyfriend JACLYN I didn’t lose him. He may still be out there…somewhere. MANDY SLAMS the locker shut and walks away. JACLYN (Shouting) Mandy! Come back here. JACLYN STOMPS her feet she turns around and leaves. INT. SCHOOL �" BATHROOM - DAY JACLYN looks into the mirror and turns the faucet causing blood to POUR out. Blood DRIPS from the ceiling she looks up to find a man’s body cut open. JACLYN GASPS. JACLYN Oh no! WATER DROPS are heard. JACLYN looks behind her a stall swaying back and forth. JACLYN’s heart is POUNDING she breaths HEAVILY, she covers her mouth and RACES out through the door. JACLYN falls backwards near a pool of blood her hair almost touching it. JACLYN jumps to her feet and STRUGLES to open the door. The door does not budge. JACLYN Oh no…please no! JACLYN constantly BANGS on the door. JACLYN Hello! Can any body here me! JACLYN continues to BANG on the door. JACLYN (Desperate) Is anybody out there? HELLO…HELP ME. Anybody…PLEASE help me. JACLYN bangs her head onto the wall and slides onto the floor. JACLYN I’m going to be stuck here for the rest of my life. JACLYN hears something as if an object was being scraped across the floor. Jaclyn’s ears pick up. She crouches onto her stomach checking the stalls for feet; she goes back onto her feet. JACLYN (Weakly) Hello? JACLYN’s body shivers as a silver object falls onto the floor from above. JACLYN looks up and sees a figure wearing dark shabby clothes. JACLYN panics she BANGS constantly on the door harder than before screaming for help. JACLYN Help? Please help me. JACLYN turns her head and notices the knife next to her. JACLYN SCREAMS. The lights flicker on and off. JACLYN’s face turns white her eyes still. The lights go off. A SCREAM is heard. The lights resume. JACLYN spots a window slightly open. MAN’S VOICE You can’t escape from me JACLYN GULPS closes her eyes and runs to the other side of the room. JACLYN struggles to open the window. The dark figure jumps down to the floor. MAN’S VOICE (Whispers) Jackie JACLYN shivers to her spine. JACLYN CRIES as she pries the window open slightly. JACLYN steps onto the radiator and squeezes through the tight opening. EXT. SCHOOL �" FRONT LAWN �" DAY JACLYN struggles to slide out from the window. A dark figure can be seen chasing behind her with a knife. JACLYN WHIMPERS. JACLYN slides herself out from the window falling onto the grass. She looks into the bathroom to find the killer missing. JACLYN turns around, the FIGURE’s arm around her neck holding the knife. JACLYN throws her elbow into the FIGURE’s arm knocking it down. JACLYN RUNS. EXT. SCHOOL �" PARKING LOT �" DAY JACLYN RUNS towards MANDY JACLYN (Out of breath) The killer…was here. I saw the killer in the…bathroom. MANDY The killer was here. JACLYN Yes… the killer was here! MANDY Are you sure it was the killer? JACLYN Of course the killer was here he tried to kill me! MANDY Wow! I thought killers only attacked when there was nobody in sight. JACLYN I was alone in the bathroom and there was a body. MANDY Jason? JACLYN Jason! Oh my god. It could have been Jason. I hope it wasn’t him though MANDY’s cell phone RINGS she digs through her purse and answers it. MANDY Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello…is Jackie there? MANDY Hold on MANDY passes the phone to JACLYN MANDY It’s for you JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello Jackie. To answer you question that wasn’t Jason JACLYN Then who was it? MAN’S VOICE Nobody that you know! JACLYN Okay…what is it that you want? MAN’S VOICE Just to tell you I’ll be near tonight. JACLYN SHUDDERS with fear. JACLYN Tonight? MAN’S VOICE Yes tonight. JACLYN Why? The phone goes dead. MANDY Everything all right? JACLYN That was him? MANDY Who? JACLYN The one who called earlier! MANDY The creep who mentioned Jason? JACLYN Yea…I think he’ll show up at the party. MANDY Why? JACLYN I don’t know. He said that wasn’t Jason’s body. MANDY Then who’s body was it? JACLYN He didn’t say MANDY kneels onto the pavement shivering. She holds her hands to her head. A wind blows through her hair. JACLYN What are you doing out here anyway Mandy? You know were not supposed to leave the building. MANDY What are you doing out here then? JACLYN I told you�"- The sound of SIRENS are heard as several police cars appear, followed by a few news vans. JACLYN What is going on? A door from one of the news vans is SLAMED open. A reporter, BRITTANY SPILLANE jumps out followed by her cameraman, TJ. BRITTANY There has been another attack at Groton High School. Several POLICE OFFICERS run into the building followed by REPORTERS, CAMERA MEN and BRITTANY SPILLANE. JACLYN approaches a POLICE OFFICER. JACLYN Excuse me…what is going on here? POLICE OFFICER A Knife has been found in a girl’s lavatory. You two should go inside.
MANDY So you were telling the truth! JACLYN Yea! We should go find Ricky and April. MANDY They are probably eating lunch as usual. JACLYN All right. Let’s go join them. MANDY Okay. So you’re definitely coming to my party right? JACLYN Yea I’m coming and Steve will be there. MANDY Okay. I just hope that was a prank call. JACKLYN What? MANDY That creep who called on my cell phone…I hope he was bluffing. JACLYN I don’t think so. Let’s just find Ricky and April MANDY and JACKLYN rush towards the building EXT. SCHOOL �" FOOD AREA �" DAY MANDY and JACLYN rush towards APRIL and RICKY who are eating their lunch. APRIL What’s going on? MANDY They found a knife in one of the bathrooms APRIL Really? MANDY Yea and it turns out Jackie was attacked by a killer. RICKY What happened? JACLYN sits down and rests her head on the table. MANDY Maybe later. APRIL Is it true Sarah Brown’s dead? JACLYN nods her head, still on the table. MANDY (Eying Jaclyn) Yea I’m afraid so. RICKY This would never happen, at least not in Groton. JACLYN sits up. JACLYN That’s what everyone is saying. RICKY Yea I bet.
APRIL Why would Sarah be murdered? MANDY Who knows APRIL It must be a real shock to Steve. JACLYN I talked to him about it. RICKY What did he say? JACLYN He said it didn’t work out between the two of them. MANDY Which is why Jackie kissed him! JACLYN (To MANDY) Yes I kissed him but big deal. It doesn’t really matter. RICKY (TO MANDY) Cut her some slack. A killer attacked her. MANDY Big deal. APRIL Leave off her. MANDY sits down, breathing HEAVILY. A pen drops into the grass. JACLYN looks underneath the table to see thick boots, the same as the killer’s. JACLYN I got to go. JACLYN gets up from the table and rushes inside. INT. SCHOOL �" CAFETERIA �" DAY JACLYN sits at an empty table eyeing her friends outside. JACLYN’s cell phone RINGS. JACLYN (Eying window) Hello?
JACLYN sees RICKY and APRIL both with a cell phone at the table. JACLYN Ricky stop this joke-or what ever it is. It’s not funny She looks out the window again and sees RICKY hanging up the cell phone. MAN’S VOICE Who’s Ricky? JACLYN Go away just leave me alone. MAN’S VOICE But Jaclyn don’t you want to know about Jason? JACLYN I don’t care anymore about Jason. MAN’S VOICE You don’t care that he is still alive. JACLYN is completely SILENT MAN’S VOICE I thought so. JACLYN What do you want with him? MAN’S VOICE So you do care about him! JACLYN If you call again I’m calling the police MAN’S VOICE You would have done that already. I’ll see you tonight! The phone DIES. JACLYN frightened runs out of a side door. EXT. SCHOOL �" LAWN - DAY The grounds deserted. JACLYN sees her boyfriend �" bleeding, blood dripping from his eyes. A rope tied around his neck attached to a branch of an oak tree. JACLYN Oh no! NO! JACLYN covers her mouth and runs off. EXT. HOUSE �" FRONT LAWN �" NIGHT JACLYN arrives; YOUNG TEENS swarm the grass entering through the front door. INT. HOUSE �" LIVING ROOM �" NIGHT A GROUP OF TEENS are sitting in front of a TV watching a scary movie. A Door SLAM is heard followed by a SCREAM. A young teen, NICK MINETE, jumps off the couch. NICK I guess you want me to take care of it! NICK is a small guy who dresses casual. INT. HOUSE �" DARK ROOM �" NIGHT NICK opens the door and turns on the light switch. NICK sees nothing out of the ordinary. He turns off the light and closes the door. A DARK FIGURE emerges from a cardboard box. INT. HOUSE �" LIVING ROOM �" NIGHT NICK returns to the TEENS on the couch. ELISA Everything all right Nick? NICK looks at ELISA NICK What…Oh yea everything’s all right. TEEN GIRL (Snotty) Everything all right Nick? NICK (Annoyed) Yes everything’s fine.
NICK stares at the ground as he slides his feet across the floor. A SCREAM is heard. The GROUP OF TEENS jump off the couch and run out of the room. INT. HOUSE �" DARK ROOM �" NIGHT The TEENS enter they GASP as they see the body of a young girl on the floor covered in blood. TEEN GIRL Oh my god! The GROUP eyes NICK. NICK Don’t look at me. It was empty when I came here. The TEEN GIRL rushes towards the body and KNEELS beside her. TEEN GIRL Oh no! Carol! ELISA KNEELS beside the TEEN GIRL. ELISA (Eying body) Oh my! (To TEEN GIRL) I’m so sorry Jessica. A tear runs down JESSICA’s face. She looks at NICK. JESSICA What the f**k is wrong with you? NICK’s jaw is dropped as he stares at JESSICA. JESSICA She could still been alive right now �"- NICK It wasn’t my fault…I’m sorry she’s dead but the room was completely empty. JESSICA Yea but�"- ELISA Will you two just stop it? It isn’t Nick’s fault�"-
JESSICA Then whose fault is it? ELISA Nobody’s. It’s just one of those unfortunate things that can’t be changed. JESSICA stands up and wraps her arms around NICK’s neck, her hands close onto him she shakes his head. NICK GASPS for air. ELISA Jessica, will you quit it? JESSICA Elisa this is just something I have to do. ELISA It isn’t getting us anywhere. JESSICA breaths HEVILY her hands drop form NICK’s NECK. JACLYN approaches JESSICA. JACLYN Everything will be okay- JESSICA How can you say that after my sister was murdered? NICK I’ll go call the police NICK leaves as JACLYN follows him out. JACLYN sits next to the body. ELISA KNEELS down next to her comforting her. BRITTANY is seen through the window. EXT. FRONT OF HOUSE �" NIGHT BRITTANY steps down from the window. She turns to TJ. BRITTANY There has just been another murder. Get the camera! TJ The camera? BRITTANY (Shouting) Yes, get it! TJ goes to the news van; he slides the door open and fetches the camera. TJ Okay ready? BRITTANY Yes, just shoot it. (To camera) Hi, Brittany Spillane reporting live from Groton, Rhode Island. Last night Sarah Brown was murdered and Jason Shanowski mysteriously disappeared. There has been another murder-the murder of a young girl. We’ll keep you updated on this breaking story. TJ Cut. BRITTANY SIGHES. BRITTANY I’m glad that’s over with. TJ Do you like your job? BRITTANY Listen, I report you shoot. It’s that simple. A slight pause BRITTANY We got to get into that house for a better look. A POLICE OFFICER walks down the road. BRITTANY (Flirtatiously) Hi! POLICE OFFICER (Cold) What do you want? BRITTANY Well there is one thing… BRITTANY continues to flirt with the POLICE OFFICER as he continues to walk. BRITTANY S**t! That didn’t work. TJ There’s gotta be a way in the house. BRITTANY Don’t worry I’ll find a way in. BRITTANY walks along the side of the house. She looks for a way in. TJ Why don’t you try the back door? BRITTANY There isn’t a back door. Don’t you think I would have tried that already? TJ How do you know there isn’t a back door? BRITTANY Because I know that’s why. Don’t ask stupid questions. EXT. BACK OF HOUSE �" NIGHT BRITTANY notices a door wide open. TJ I thought there wasn’t a back door. BRITTANY I didn’t see it okay. TJ Maybe you should’ve looked for it. BRITTANY Just shut the f**k up. TJ closes his mouth. BRITTANY keeps walking. The door suddenly closes. BRITTANY Aw s**t! BRITTANY runs towards the door. She grabs the doorknob she struggles to open the door. Brittany kicks at the door she fights with the doorknob. BRITTANY TJ get over here and help me. TJ approaches the door as BRITTANY steps out of the way. TJ struggles with the door as BRITTANY watches from behind. BRITTANY Get out of the way and let me do it. TJ moves aside as BRITTANY struggles with the door. TJ You ask me for help and for what? BRITTANY (Jiggling the doorknob) Because I told you to that’s why. BRITTANY shoves her body into the door. It doesn’t budge. She pounds on the door she faces TJ behind her. BRITTANY Uhh! TJ It won’t budge? BRITTANY Does it look like it will? TJ has a confused look on his face. BRITTANY We need to find another way in. BRITTANY kicks at the door annoyed. She notices a DARK FIGURE hidden in the trees. BRITTANY Oh my god! TJ What? BRITTANY The killer he’s here. TJ What? TJ looks behind him the woods completely empty. TJ I don’t see anything. BRITTANY He’s there in the trees. TJ Well whatever it was it’s gone now. BRITTANY Is there another way in or no? TJ How am I supposed to know? BRITTANY Well go find a way in. TJ leaves BRITTANY alone on the steps. BRITTANY SIGHES, She kicks the door. BRITTANY F**k! BRITTANY kicks the door a second time. The door slightly opens. BRITTANY opens the door a bit further she steps into the house. The door SLAMS behind her. The DARK FIGURE walks over to the house, he puts his head on the door. BRITTANY (O.S) Uhh! The door is shoved open from the inside knocking the DARK FIGURE into the bushes. BRITTANY steps out searching the yard-completely empty. She steps back into the house and closes the door. The DARK FIGURE gets up from the bushes and opens the door. The door slowly closes behind him. INT. MANDY gets up and approaches the front door. MANDY I’ll check. MANDY opens the door. Outside is completely dark. A figure walks in. The figure’s boots hit the floor. JACLYN approaches the door with caution. JACLYN Steve? MANDY hits the light switch illuminating the hall. STEVE can be made out JACLYN approaches him. NICK runs into the room. NICK What is it? JACLYN eyes the window the DARK FIGURE has disappeared. JACLYN Nick the killer was here. He was trying to get into the house. NICK comforts JACLYN. NICK It’s okay. NICK looks out of the window and searches the yard-completely empty. ELISA RUNS in. ELISA What’s going on? NICK The killer was trying to attack Jackie. NICK makes an effort to pick JACLYN up and rocks back and forth. NICK (To JACLNY) Everything’s all right. NICK puts JACLYN down. MANDY RUSHES into the room. MANDY What is the matter? NICK Apparently the killer was outside the window. MANDY I’ll call the police. MANDY runs out of the room, JESSICA enters. JESSICA I was just sitting down and I heard a scream. And he had a knife and was trying to enter the house but he couldn’t�" JESSICA Just calm down! Everything’s all right now. MANDY rushes in holding a portable phone MANDY The police are on their way. JACLYN sits onto the couch. The DOORBELL CHIMES, MANDY looks out the window and sees a Police Officer, BRUCE WILLIAMS. MANDY opens the door and steps out onto the front steps. EXT. HOUSE - FRONT DOOR - NIGHT BRUCE What’s the problem? MANDY Thank you officer for coming as quickly as possible. BRUCE Not a problem. TJ glances down on BRUCE and MANDY from an oak tree. HOUSE �" PORCH �" NIGHT BRITTANY steps out from the house. She sees a DARK FIGURE. BRITTANY GASPS. BRITTANY (Shouting) TJ TJ runs into BRITTANY he KNOCKS her down and falls on top of her. BRITTANY Hi TJ looks down at BRITTANY. TJ Hi BRITTANY TJ�" TJ Yea! A DARK FIGURE walks toward BRITTANY and TJ BRITTANY (Shouting) Get up! TJ does not move. BRITTANY Get up the killer is near. TJ What? TJ looks up and sees the DARK FIGURE holding a knife. The FIGURE THROWS the knife into TJ. TJ’s eyes are stone as sweat POURS down his face. TJ COLLAPSES on top of BRITTANY. The DARK FIGURE’s hand SLIDES across the bloody knife. BRITTANY SCREAMS at TJ who still has little life in him. BRITTANY SHOVES TJ’s helpless bleeding body off of her own and into the grass.
BRITTANY TJ I know your dying but… (Shouting) …get the f**k off of me. BRITTANY JUMPS onto her feet, the FIGURE chasing after her. She runs into the porch door. INT. HOUSE �" PORCH �" NIGHT BRITTANY tries to keep the door shut with all her might, as it keeps being forced open. The DARK FIGURE tries to attack BRITTANY by WEILDING the knife into the door’s opening. BRITTANY searches the room. The DARK FIGURE FORCES the door open, BRITTANY runs to another door. She jiggles the handle to find the door locked. BRITTANY S**t! BRITTANY kicks the door it opens slightly. The DARK FIGURE LEAPS at BRITTANY hitting the granite surface. BRITTANY runs toward the outside door. The FIGURE attempts to open grab BRITTANY’s feet, she jumps over the FIGURE. The FIGURE gets on foot and CHASES after BRITTANY as she opens the outside door. EXT. HOUSE �" PORCH �" NIGHT The DARK FIGURE grabs a hold of BRITTANY as she kicks and struggles to get it off of her. Brittany shoves the FIGURE off her and runs through the grass. EXT. HOUSE �" FRONT DOOR �" NIGHT BRITTANY approaches the door and THROWS it open. She steps into the room. INT. HOUSE �" LIVING ROOM �" NIGHT BRITTANY BOLTS the door behind her and SCREAMS for help and notices JACLYN on the chair. BRITTANY approaches JACLYN. JACLYN looks up. BRITTANY You got to help me the killer is here. And my cameraman TJ is dead. JACLYN What kind of psycho are you? BRITTANY You got to trust me. There isn’t much time. The killer is here. An object is TOSSED into the window glass shattering everywhere. JACLYN What the f**k BRITTANY looks at the shattered glass and picks up a metal object. BRITTANY What the hell is this? BRITTANY passes the object to JACLYN INSERT �" METAL OBJECT Chipped metal covers the black surface; a speck of blood covers the metal. BACK TO SCENE JACLYN Wait a minute. JACLYN turns the surface over. INSERT �" METAL OBJECT Blood covers the surface. BACK TO SCENE JACLYN removes the blood from the surface of the metal object. INSERT �" METAL OBJECT A dark letter “T” covers the surface. BACK TO SCENE JACLYN Oh my god! BRITTANY What is it? JACLYN I think I know who the killer is. BRITTANY Who? JACLYN Paul Teisler? BRITTANY JACLYN Paul Teisler he’s a friend of mine. A slight pause JACLYN has a confused look JACLYN Wait a minute. That can be. BRITTANY This friend is the killer or not? JACLYN I can’t tell FOOTSTEPS are heard followed by a door SLAM. JACLYN Someone there? MANDY (O.S) I keep telling you I don’t know who would want her dead. JACLYN Mandy! MANDY Yea! JACLYN grabs the metal object MANDY enters. JACLYN Where were you? MANDY Bruce wanted to talk to me. BRUCE WILLIAMS follows MANDY into the room. BRUCE We need to know who would want you dead? MANDY I don’t know who would want her dead-I keep telling you that. JACLYN Do you know where everyone else went? MANDY Who? JACLYN Nick, Elisa and Jessica. MANDY They left? NICK (To JACLYN) We needed to give Steve his wallet JACLYN But why did all three of you go? ELISA They didn’t know where he was. JACLYN So couldn’t you just go? HOUSE �" BATHROOM �" NIGHT JACLYN walks through the doorway and GASPS. She sees a mirror covered in blood. Bloodstains cover the bathtub. JACLYN looks at the bathtub and SCREAMS. JACLYN’s hand locks onto the doorknob behind her. The doorknob is JIGGLES her hand FLINGS off the knob. The JIGGLE of the doorknob continues. JACLYN breathes HEAVILY. JACLYN Who’s there? NICK Jackie is everything all right? JACLYN grabs the doorknob and THROWS the door open. NICK enters his hands covered in blood. JACLYN Nick what happened? NICK approaches JACLYN his hands out in front. JACLYN No you’re not the killer it’s Paul. NICK Think about it Jaclyn JACLYN sees the reflection of a DARK FIGURE in the mirror. JACLYN Nick the killer is behind you. NICK approaches the mirror he looks into it. NICK (Jokingly) Bloody Mary.
NICK sees in the mirror a white translucent figure, the figure of a woman. NICK Oh my god. You see that? JACLYN See what? NICK You don’t see that! JACLYN looks through the mirror and sees the DARK FIGURE, the killer. JACLYN The killer he’s here. NICK What? A knife is SLIT into NICK’s chest; he collapses onto the floor blocking the door off from JACLYN. JACLYN SCREAMS. The door tries to open it constantly hits into NICK’s body. JACLYN Oh Nick. The DARK FIGURE holds a knife above JACLYN’s head; she fails to notice and stops dead. Jaclyn looks toward the mirror to see the DARK FIGURE. JACLYN DUCKS the knife hits off the sink’s faucet. JACLYN steps back CROUCHING through the FIGURE’s legs. The FIGURE makes a stabbing motion missing JACLYN. The door finally is SHOVED open. MANDY is revealed. MANDY Oh Jackie, what happened? The DARK FIGURE has disappeared. The window open a breeze blows through the drapes. JACLYN The killer was here. That’s what the f**k happened. MANDY approaches JACLYN MANDY Well who ever it was, he’s gone now. JACLYN Paul, that’s who it was. MANDY Are you sure it’s him.
JACLYN The medallion had that T for Teisler. At least I think that’s what it stranded for. MANDY Could the T stand for someone else maybe? JACLYN What? MANDY Well is there anyone else with the initial T. JACLYN I don’t think so. Maybe, that’s a possibility. MANDY There has to be someone or at least a reason why you think its Paul. JACLYN It’s the medallion it must be. MANDY JACLYN Well, there would be no reason for Paul to be a killer. MANDY Then why do you think it’s him? JACLYN Just because of the medallion. MANDY But that doesn’t really mean anything. JACLYN I know it doesn’t make any sense. But there is just this small possibility it is Paul. MANDY JACLYN I don’t even remember when I saw him last. JACLYN sits onto the floor and CRIES as MANDY sits next to her to comfort her. MANDY Maybe another clue will come to clear Paul’s name.
JACLYN Do you think I should give him a call? MANDY Maybe JACLYN gets up from the ground and exits the room. INT. HOUSE �" KITCHEN �" NIGHT JACLYN is on her cell phone it continues to RING. JACLYN puts her hand over the phone. JACLYN Well he hasn’t said anything much. JACLYN removes her hand from the phone. JACLYN Paul did you hear about the murders. PAUL (Outraged) Murders? JACLYN looks through the window she sees nothing but a shadow hidden in the darkness. MANDY exits as the DOORBELL CHIMES again. MANDY (O.S shouting) Jackie can you get that JACLYN All right! JACLYN makes her way to the door as the DOORBELL CHIMES. JACLYN I’m coming! JACLYN opens the door she sees a dark shadow hidden in the darkness. JACLYN (Cautiously) Paul?
The shadowy figure steps in through the doorway; PAUL TEISLER can be made out clearly. PAUL Everything all right Jackie? PAUL TEISLER is a junior in high school. JACLYN (Sarcastically) Oh everything is okay…I guess. Just Nick is dead and Jessica’s sister Carol died so what can be better. PAUL walks over to the medallion, which is hanging off of a side table. PAUL picks up the medallion. PAUL When did I leave this here? JACLYN You didn’t. PAUL Then how did it get here? JACLYN It was thrown in through the window. PAUL looks out of the window and turns to JACLYN. PAUL By some lousy freshmen or something? JACLYN Actually the one who murdered Nick and Carol threw it into the window. PAUL Okay. What I don’t understand is how did the killer get this? JACLYN lays a cold look on PAUL. PAUL You don’t think it could be me do you? JACLYN Well you’re the one who owns that. PAUL That doesn’t show how I would be the killer. Why would I want to kill you, your like my best friend. PAUL looks at the medallion, he CLUTCHES it in his hands. PAUL How could I be a killer? MANDY opens a door and quietly walks down a set of stairs. The rest of the GROUP follows down the eerie staircase. INT. HOUSE �" STAIRWAY - NIGHT ELISA Is there a light or something?

JESSICA Then who is that upstairs The upstairs door SWINGS open revealing the DARK FIGURE with a knife. STEVE grabs a hold of the storm window and struggles to get it open. JACLYN constantly BANGS on the window. JACLYN Steve STEVE still struggles to get the window open ajar. The DARK FIGURE slowly walks down the stairway. STEVE finally opens the window slightly. JESSICA SCREAMS she eyes back and forth the DARK FIGURE and STEVE. ELISA steps onto a crate and climbs through the window. EXT. HOUSE �" STORM WINDOW �" NIGHT ELISA stands next to STEVE, PAUL climbs through the window. The DARK FIGURE walks closer to the GROUP. JESSICA Paul move faster the killer is near. BRITTANY steps onto the crate and makes her way after JACLYN through the window. JESSICA eyes the DARK FIGURE as MANDY climbs through the window. STEVE We have to keep moving JACLYN And what we are just going to leave Jessica behind. PAUL Jackie there is nothing else we can do. JACLYN I’m not leaving a friend behind. JACLYN turns around. PAUL stops JACLYN from running she struggles to break through. JACLYN Let go of me. We need to help Jessica. PAUL We can’t do anything to help her. JACLYN Yes we can. PAUL grabs a nearby baseball bat and SWINGS at STEVE, he jumps back to avoid being hit. STEVE Stop it. PAUL continues to SWING at STEVE. JACLYN runs to PAUL and grabs his hand. JACLYN Stop it, PLEASE! PAUL FIGHTS off JACLYN. ELISA Will you two stop it? Nick and Carol are dead and Jessica is in danger, we need to help her. BRITTANY I’ll drive the news van to the police station. STEVE I’ll come with you. BRITTANY and STEVE run off. JACLYN, ELISA and PAUL remain. JACLYN We need to help Jessica. PAUL I told you a thousand times we can’t help her. ELISA And why not PAUL It’s too dangerous. ELISA Maybe but if done right we can save her. PAUL Fine. JACLYN runs to the front door and JIGGLES the knob. JACLYN It’s locked The news van SPEEDS by. PAUL Okay they are going to find help. ELISA Just open the goddamm door.
JACLYN I’m trying. JACLYN struggles to open the door. ELISA walks toward the cracked window and PUNCHES out the glass it SHATTERS on the floor. ELISA CLIMBS through and opens the door from the inside. INT. HOUSE �" HALLWAY �" NIGHT The GROUP enters. PAUL Were would Jessica be? JACLYN In the basement where we left her ELISA I’ll check the basement. JACLYN Don’t you think we should go together? ELISA Well, she might be anywhere. MANDY She is probably right where we left her. JACLYN I think we should split up�" MANDY What happened to we should stick together? JACLYN Well there are four of us. Elisa and I will check downstairs. You and Paul can go upstairs. ELISA opens the door to the basement. ELISA and JACLYN walk down the stairs. MANDY Wait! Were would we meet them. PAUL It’s just your house for god sakes. They’re not going to get lost. MANDY There’s a killer on the loose. Did you forget? PAUL Well they’re not alone. MANDY What if they split up? PAUL Just stop worrying everything will be fine. MANDY walks up the stairwell PAUL follows behind her. MANDY Jessica? Were are you? PAUL Jessica! MANDY and PAUL continue to walk up the staircase. INT. HOUSE �" BASEMENT �" NIGHT JACLYN and ELISA search for JESSICA. ELISA Jessica? ELISA walks under a light and flicks the switch illuminating the room. JACLYN Jessica you down here A DARK FIGURE leaps out at them. They SCREAM. The DARK FIGURE runs after them with a knife. INT. HOUSE �" HALLWAY �" NIGHT MANDY and PAUL enter a doorway. INT. HOUSE �" BEDROOM �" NIGHT MANDY and PAUL enter the room. The room is perfectly clean. MANDY approaches a closet door she turns the handle and opens the door. MANDY flicks the light switch illuminating the closet. MANDY SIFTS through the objects that lay on the floor. MANDY turns to look at PAUL. MANDY Nothing out of the ordinary MANDY looks back into the closet. She reaches for the light switch when a body drops from the ceiling. MANDY SCREAMS. PAUL Everything okay? MANDY is terrified as she looks at the bleeding body, JESSICA. PAUL Everything all right PAUL walks up to MANDY; she turns to look at him. PAUL looks in the closet and sees the body of JESSICA hanging from the ceiling PAUL SHRIEKS. PAUL Oh my god A loud POUNDING sound is heard. MANDY What was that? The POUNDING sound grows louder. MANDY Paul, I’m scared. MANDY is terrified. PAUL looks out through the doorway into the hall. INT. HOUSE �" HALLWAY �" NIGHT PAUL looks through the doorway he gazes down both ways of the hall. A dark shadow is seen on the wall at the top of the stairs. PAUL steps out from the doorway. MANDY follows. MANDY Paul, be careful. The dark shadow on the wall comes closer towards PAUL and JACLYN who are standing away from the both walls. MANDY What is it? PAUL steps forward slightly MANDY cautiously walks behind him. The dark shadows move closer. MANDY SCREAMS. INT. HOUSE �" BASEMENT �" NIGHT The SCREAMS continue. ELISA and JACLYN search for JESSICA. ELISA What was that? JACLYN I think that was Mandy. ELISA and JACLYN look at each other as another SCREAM is heard. They run up the stairs. INT. HOUSE �" HALLWAY �" NIGHT PAUL comforts MANDY as JACLYN and ELISA rush towards them. ELISA Everything okay? MANDY The killer he’s here!
JACLYN What? MANDY Look around
JACLYN and MANDY turn around as notice the dark shadow on the wall. A DARK FIGURE slowly approaches the GROUP. MANDY turns to run, PAUL stops her. PAUL Jason! MANDY stops struggling and looks at PAUL. JACLYN (To PAUL) Jason? He’s dead! PAUL Is he? ELISA stares at the DARK FIGURE. ELISA Jason? JACLYN It’s not Jason…he’s dead. JASON Am I? The GIRLS stare into the darkness. JACLYN (To PAUL) What’s going on? The DARK FIGURE’s hand goes to its head. The hand removes a dark shadowy hood its face clearly seen. JACLYN Jason? I thought you died. JASON Did I? MANDY Jason no what are you doing? JASON I’m trying to get what I want MANDY Which is? JASON Jackie you remember our deal? JACLYN Oh f**k you. JASON We were �" JACLYN Is that what this is all about? MANDY looks up at PAUL MANDY You both are in this together? PAUL I’m sorry Mandy. JACLYN (To Paul) Why did you do this? You never wanted me dead. PAUL Yea but I needed to follow Jason to complete his goal. JACLYN And what was that? PAUL To scare you JACLYN Well you went way to far…wait a minute… (Looking at JASON) …I saw your body hanging from a tree. JASON That wasn’t my body. JACLYN Well why did you kill our friends. BRITTANY And my cameraman The GROUP looks up to see BRITTANY SPILLANE. ELISA When did you get here? BRITTANY Just now. JACLYN I didn’t even here you coming. ELISA You get help…where’s Steve?
BRITTANY He went to get help. I came back to see that you guys were all right. ELISA That’s very thoughtful of you. BRITTANY has an awkward expression on her face. PAUL Well you’re to late. BRITTANY Am I? ‘Cause the way I see it I just came back here on time. JASON Well now prepare to die. BRITTANY I’m not preparing for anything.
JASON looks PUZZLED BRITTANY Because I’m not going to die PAUL What makes you so dam sure? BRITTANY Because I said so BRITTANY holds out a gun pointing it back and forth from JASON to PAUL. PAUL Oh s**t JASON She’s only a girl PAUL She has a gun. MANDY breaks free from PAUL’s grip. MANDY Shoot him. BRITTANY points the gun at PAUL and then points it at JASON. STEVE runs up the steps. POLICE SIRENS are heard. JACLYN Steve! STEVE
STEVE goes to JACLYN and kisses her. STEVE breaks off and eyes the gun. STEVE What’s going on here? BRITTANY What does it look like I’m doing? STEVE I know what your doing but why are you aiming at Paul and Jason… STEVE stops quickly. He turns to JACLYN.
STEVE I thought you said he was dead. JACLYN Well I saw his body. JACLYN and STEVE look at JASON. STEVE He’s the killer. BRITTANY backs up into the wall, the gun hits the floor. STEVE and JACLYN look at PAUL. The gun CLICKS. JACLYN and STEVE turn around to find JASON holding a gun. STEVE You two are in this together? JASON Of course STEVE Why. MANDY runs charging into JASON. A gunshot is fired. It ricochets off of the corner of the wall and hits into PAUL’s chest. PAUL What the f**k is wrong with you? JASON Well you got in the way PAUL’s bloody hands hold his head. He looks up at JASON; his big eyes stare at him. PAUL I thought we were friends JASON Not anymore. PAUL What happened to you? JASON Just trying to pursue my goals in life. PAUL Of being known as a psychopathic killer. JASON That’s what it’s all about. MANDY stares at JASON
MANDY You sick b*****d.
JASON Am I? A gun SHOT is heard. JASON clutches his arm. JASON What the f**k BRITTANY BLOWS on the gun. BRITTANY That’s done with. BRITTANY throws the gun at STEVE. STEVE catches the gun he points it at PAUL. PAUL holds up his hands. PAUL Shoot Jason. JASON (Shouting) I thought we were friends PAUL I guess we aren’t anymore. A gun SHOT is heard, JASON clutches his shoulder blade. JASON What the f**k is wrong with you? STEVE I’m not the one who went on a murderous rampage. JASON F**k you STEVE throws the gun back to Brittany she catches it. JACLYN What happened to you Jason? JASON What? JACLYN What is the meaning of killing my friends? JASON I have no friends. JACLYN You think I was faking our relationship? JASON You still love me JACLYN Not anymore. JASON Why not? JACLYN Are you f*****g kidding me?
PAUL Jackie didn’t you just say you weren’t faking the relationship. JACLYN That was before Jason started killing people. JASON F**k you JACLYN F**k you back. ELISA This isn’t getting us anywhere. MANDY You don’t care what Paul was doing? ELISA I care and you better believe it. MANDY Don’t get mad at me ELISA I’m not mad at you. It’s Paul. PAUL You never got over that. ELISA Just leave me alone. ELISA walks down the stairs her eyes watery. MANDY Elisa wait. ELISA keeps walking, not hearing MANDY’s CALLS. MANDY Aw that went well. JACLYN Should she be going alone? MANDY The killers are up here she’ll be fine. JACLYN looks at MANDY. MANDY This whole party was a blow. If you even call it a party. JACLYN Oh Mandy. MANDY I just wanted a fun party weekend and it blows up in my face. MANDY turns towards the stairs and runs down the staircase her eyes tear. JACLYN runs down after her. BRITTANY You little s***s PAUL He made me do it. The gun slips from STEVE’s hand. BRITTANY DIVES for the gun. BRITTANY holds the gun at JASON. JASON You don’t understand what this was all about�" BRITTANY F**k you The gun slips from BRITTANY’s hand, it SLIDES across the floor. BRITTANY S**t PAUL and JASON both DIVE for the gun on the floor. JASON and PAUL fight over the gun. It slips out of their hands and flies through the air. The gun CRASHES on the floor. INSERT �" GUN It lies on the floor in pieces covered with a bloodstain. BACK TO SCENE PAUL Crap! JASON Don’t just look at the gun, grab it you fucken moron. PAUL Don’t you think I would of done that already? JASON Well, why don’t you? PAUL It’s broken you sick b*****d. JASON Watch it! PAUL Well that’s for calling me a fucken moron. JASON You deserved it. PAUL You know what, don’t make me shoot you. JASON picks up the gun. PAUL I’ll do it. You know I will. An awkward PAUSE JASON With what gun PAUL looks at the gun in pieces he THROWS it to the side. PAUL F**k that’s no help. JASON Of course it isn’t PAUL SIGHES. PAUL What the f**k are you going to do about it then? JASON Just shut the f**k up and do something about it then. PAUL What is there to do? JASON I don’t know. Just do something.
STEVE Something wrong. JASON and PAUL panic JASON Just f**k off. STEVE You little a******s, you need to shut up. JASON Paul do something PAUL Like what JASON Anything. BRITTANY runs down the stairs. A gun SHOT is fired. BRITTANY stops and looks behind her to see PAUL collapsed. Paul is leaning against the wall his shirt bleeding. PAUL What the f**k was that for? STEVE You killed my girlfriend. PAUL I didn’t kill her it was Jason STEVE Get out of my sight you little s**t. STEVE drops the gun JASON I thought that was broken. Wasn’t it Paul? PAUL I just got shot so don’t fucken talk to me! JASON Just die, see what I care.
BRITTANY You’re just going to watch him die like that. JASON What’s it to me? BRITTANY He is your friend isn’t he? JASON Well I don’t give a s**t STEVE And why is that? JASON He was just being fucken gay for the entire thing. BRITTANY Did he want to kill his friends? PAUL Of course not STEVE RUNS towards PAUL BRITTANY (To STEVE) He just killed someone and you are being all nice about it PAUL I didn’t kill anyone it was all Jason. BRITTANY And why should we believe you? An object lies above BRITTANY’s head it lowers slowly down to her skull. BANG BRITTANY collapses onto the ground. JASON drops the object. STEVE gets up STEVE What the f**k was that for? JASON She was just getting on my nerves. JASON collapses onto the ground. BRITTANY holds the object above JASON. BRITTANY Don’t fucken mess with me. PAUL Is he okay? BRITTANY Who fucken cares? PAUL I do STEVE Did you hear what he said right after you were shot PAUL Yea I heard it BRITTANY And you don’t care. PAUL Well he shouldn’t care BRITTANY And why is that PAUL Because I almost turned him to the police BRITTANY Why didn’t you? PAUL He threatened to kill me BRITTANY So better one loss than many innocent people PAUL I didn’t kill anyone. A loud BANG is heard. The front door is kicked open POLICE OFFICER Get down The POLICE OFFICER holds a gun. CLICK. The POLICE OFFICER reloads it. BRITTANY charges down the stairs. BRITTANY Oh officer you are here. POLICE OFFICER That’s my duty. BRITTANY We need paramedics. POLICE OFFICER Were is this sick b*****d? The POLICE OFFICER hits the gun. CLICK. He searches the room. The Police officer approaches a door and KICKS it open. The closet is completely empty. BRITTANY He’s upstairs. The POLICE OFFICER closes the door and makes his way up the steps. PAUL Oh officer I need help. POLICE OFFICER What happened? STEVE Gun shot. POLICE OFFICER What is this guy doing here? The POLICE OFFICER kicks his boots into JASON who lies on the floor. The POLICE OFFICER turns his body over with his feet. BRITTANY runs up the stairs. BRITTANY He collapsed after I hit him with the baseball bat. BRITTANY points to the baseball bat that lies in the corner. POLICE OFFICER How did he get shot?
BRITTANY He wasn’t POLICE OFFICER Then why is he bleeding BRITTANY What? BRITTANY looks up from the floor and realizes the POLICE OFFICER is referring to PAUL POLICE OFFICER How did he get shot? BRITTANY He was shot with a gun what else. POLICE OFFICER Who shot him? STEVE walks closer to the POLICE OFFICER STEVE I did POLICE OFFICER And why was that son STEVE He killed my girlfriend The POLICE OFFICER walks closer to STEVE POLICE OFFICER And why would he kill her? STEVE I don’t know POLICE OFFICER Then what makes you so dam sure that he killed her? The POLICE OFFICER continues to harass STEVE STEVE Look I don’t know. All I know is that she was found dead. POLICE OFFICER Then why shoot him STEVE Because he was in on it also with this guy STEVE looks at JASON’s body making it clear to the POLICE OFFICER that is who he is talking about. POLICE OFFICER You need to calm down son STEVE Don’t tell me to calm down STEVE approaches the POLICE OFFICER in a harsh manner. The POLICE OFFFICER backs off STEVE. POLICE OFFICER Just calm down STEVE BRITTANY Will both of you knock it off? A loud BANG is heard. PAUL holds a gun. ELISA and JACLYN run up the stairs. There is a second BANG. MANDY rushes up the steps. ELISA What’s going on here? STEVE I’m being harassed that’s what’s going on. JACLYN Steve you all right. MANDY runs towards PAUL she KNEELS beside him MANDY You all right Paul, what happened? STEVE Paul is a killer. MANDY turns to look at STEVE MANDY What? STEVE He killed Sarah. PAUL That was Jason. The GROUP confused looks at PAUL PAUL It was Jason The GROUP look at JASON he lies on the floor. JACLYN runs towards his body. JACLYN His he all right
STEVE He may be unconscious. JACLYN And you are just standing there STEVE There’s nothing we can do…and why do you want to help him he killed your friends. JACLYN Killing someone is one thing but I am not going to just stand here and not help him. The POLICE OFFICER picks up the baseball bat in the corner and walks down the stairs. JACLYN What is going to happen to him? MANDY turns to JACLYN MANDY Why do you fucken care JACLYN I am not going to be known as a murderer. There is a loud BANG. The door is kicked open as PARAMEDICS rush up the stairs. PAUL Please help me. The PARAMEDICS look at PAUL and then to JASON’s body. They KNEEL down to JASON. PAUL bangs his head against the wall. PAUL You fuckers going to help me or not? PARAMEDIC Well get to you. This guy is unconscious. PAUL (Calmly) Okay I can wait… (Shouting) I’m just dying here. A PARAMEDIC jumps to his feet and walks over to PAUL he KNEELS down next to him. PAREMEDIC You’ll be okay. The PARAMEDIC picks his body up to a stretcher. The second PARAMEDIC ditches PAUL and helps the PARAMEDIC bring the stretcher down the stairs. PAUL F**k! PAUL BANGS his head onto the wall his shirt is covered with bloodstains. MANDY You’ll be okay. STEVE Just hang in there. STEVE KNEELS down next to MANDY. STEVE I’m sorry I shot you MANDY gives STEVE an evil look. PAUL I don’t blame you JACLYN Don’t say that PAUL Well his girlfriend’s dead. I’m still alive BRITTANY You didn’t kill her. PAUL I could have stopped Jason BRITTANY It isn’t your fault PAUL Well I helped kill others. JACLYN What! PAUL I helped kill the others. STEVE I thought you sad you didn’t kill anybody. BRITTANY So why are we helping him survive? STEVE Because he’s a jackass JACLYN No, we are helping him because… I don’t know but we’ve got to. JACLYN SIGHS BRITTANY He helped kill your friends. JACLYN He didn’t kill all of them though. STEVE Jackie, Nick and Jessica are dead.
JACLYN Well killing him won’t bring them back. JACLYN sits down against the wall. She outstretches her hand. STEVE walks over and pulls her up. STEVE Look, let’s try to put this behind us. STEVE and JACLYN walk down the stairs holding hands. MANDY gets up and walks to ELISA. MANDY I guess we just need to put these matters behind us. ELISA Yea. ELISA puts her hands in her pockets. MANDY comforts her. MANDY I’m so sorry about Nick ELISA Yea I know but what can I do. ELISA and MANDY walk down the stairs. BRITTANY follows. PAUL A little help The GROUP continues to walk down the steps not looking back at PAUL. A nearby door slowly opens. A DARK FIGURE appears holding a bloody knife. EXT. MANDY’S HOUSE �" DAY PARAMEDICS walk through the doorway holding PAUL on a stretcher. ELISA runs towards them. ELISA Paul! PAUL Elisa! EXT. MANDY’S HOUSE �" YARD �" DAY BRITTANY walks across the lawn holding a microphone up to her mouth. A CAMERAMAN walks in front of her. BRITTANY (To CAMERAMAN) Just last night several teens were innocently partying here at this home in Groton, Rhode Island… BRITTANY continues to walk. BRITTANY This is a chilling tale about the events that shocked the state of Rhode Island… The country home sits calmly in the background with no neighbors in sight. BRITTANY It is believed the killer attacked at this party for only one reason… BRITTANY continues to walk across the lawn filled with REPORTERS and POLICE OFFICERS. An ambulance rests on the lawn.
