Borrowed SpaceA Poem by sweetspicedgherkinsA poem about the world?
This isn’t our world
This isn’t our place Borrowed time And borrowed space The day we are born Is the day we die There is nothing left We didn’t try We’ve used our resources Pushed help away We’ve divided our people Into who is and who isn’t gay What once was green Now dirty brown People once filled faces with smiles Looks at us now, we’ve all shutdown Our children are robbed Of a life carefree Battling a war We forced them to see We can’t get along This human race I don’t understand why Why we can’t all belong to a place I dream of a world Different from now But my words are empty As I watch us all row I wish to see love And my world at peace A happy place for all to enjoy For all fighting to cease © 2021 sweetspicedgherkins |
