To Whom Mental Health Concerns

To Whom Mental Health Concerns

A Poem by spence
"

Soundbites of 'sanity'... consume all with vanity!

"
You may call me schizophrenic
And believe that it’s endemic
When the advertising message
Makes up the epistemic
In a wanton greed and whining epidemic
As we wander here and there
And we wonder, hear and see
Subliminal suggestions
Moralistic questions
Aesthetic assertions are pushed upon me
Ideal imagery and products to own
Competitive consumers
Aspiring to perfect roles
And all those opposed
Become bi-polar souls
Mental health woes
Juxtaposed
Against the ‘truth’ that everyone knows
We’re the black hole species
Convenient components of individuality
Consuming all into a singularity
And, unconcerned with all disparity
We’ll die as one regular irregularity

nice work Spence. I think it has a profound message that speaks even deeper than materialism, it is not thinking for ourselves and "buying" popular opinion with out doing the research ourselves, to see if the view we have adopted is based on facts or propaganda. That is what i got out of it!

Far I like this poem, its really deep and I can relate to it within society today. you know when I read this because of the words used, it sounded like a rap going on in my head.

But the message i got from it was that if people don't buy into the whole materialistic side of things people may think your not right being mentally unstable, showing how shallow we as people can think and be. Is that what you wanted the readers to get? cause that's what i got.
