I wish words could change the world
I wish hopes could guide the future
I wish faith could move food mountains and that charity was fruitful
I wish that dreams could make reality from the hearts imagination
And that peace was more than all of these whims and aspirations
I wish words could change the world
I wish hopes could guide the future
I wish faith could move food mountains and that charity was fruitful
I wish that dreams could make reality from the hearts imagination
And that peace was more than all of these whims and aspirations
... ah ... the magic of brevity ... the magic of potent and profound thought ... the magic of a wish ... it's all the magic potion needed to make the universe a much more beautiful place ... "words" can change the world ... i feel more than ever when i read such powerful poetry that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword ... "hopes" determine and define ... for without them ... without even a hint of hope ... there would be virtually nothing to look forward to ... "faith could move mountains and charity was fruitful" ... these words are so expressive and in a powerful way ... "faith" can ... and when it doesn't ... we ought to bring it to life with "words" ... and we can't if we have no "hope" ... this is ravishing poetry ... and it does justice to the theme of our contest ... and the last two lines ... are absolutely magical ... they cast a spell ... they trigger the right buttons ... to make one sit up with a start ... "dreams can make reality from the heart's imagination" ... just as you have ... with these beautiful lines ... and yes, peace is much more ... but without that wish ... there really isn't even a hint of a dream ... this is a beautifully written sensitive verse (poem) and moves beyond measure ... stirs the soul ... and then makes one think ... and that's really the first step ... without thought there can't be progression towards constructive action ... for most of us ... as we are ... after all human ... we need the fuel of a wish to go on ... to dream ... to accomplish ... thank you so much for this inspirational verse (poem) ...

what wishes these are! each one is so profound, so serene, so honest that takes my breath away!
"I wish words could change the world
I wish hopes could guide the future"
and words can - there have been such powerful and intense proofs of the impact of the written word - including the great man that inspired this contest! it is in the hopes dreams of the poets and writers, and singers and artists, and leaders and dancers that the future is being born, right at this moment!
"I wish faith could move food mountains and that charity was fruitful"
ah! to think of "food mountains" that need to be moved - it takes an exceptionally sensitive soul to see - the disparity that exists around us, the gap between those who have and those who need is the single most heartbreaking issue, in my opinion!
"I wish that dreams could make reality from the heart's imagination"
"And that peace was more than all of these whims and aspirations"
that would just be the world of choice, wouldn't it! it was inevitable to go back to lennon and hum - "imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, and above us only sky"!
if we can imagine, intensely enough, and create a peaceful world, urgently enough, lennon's dream could echo in all our eyes and the eyes of our children and their children too! amen, to your wish!
Don't we all, or most of us. There isn't much inspiration in this piece for me, however, it's just a bunch of wishes that don't seem to have much aspiration or intensity behind them. Food mountains is an interesting concept though, I wish I have a mountain of food. Also "hearts" should probably have an apostrophe in it. Nice short poem though, it has potential.
