Snake

Snake

A Poem by Speechless Shadow
"

A little symbolic. A little obvious.

"

A green snake sits on a windowsill

Watching below feeling only the guilt

A jealous snake with no friends at all

Wanting to hear the voice of a dark angel’s call

Everyone she loved now fears her

She just wants to hear something from Death’s messenger.

A whisper in the distance, echoed sounds in the air

She just wants to know if anyone cares

No laughter at all, she just weeps and mourns

Of the shattering souls and the hearts that were torn

Someone reaches out, a friend draws her near

Tells her to forget and erase all her fears

Of the pain that she caused and the nights that feel black

The death that lingers near and the love that she lacks

Stop listening to all of the hearts that you break

Just because you are an unloving snake

Don’t take away the ones that others love

Think about the help you need that you’ll receive from above

Walk away, wipe all your tears

And think about the memories that you hold dear

Don’t take away someone else’s life to make you feel better

And maybe one day you and I will be together

Help others to feel the warmth I share with you

And let those dark feelings fad and come out from the blue

Repair the hearts that you tore

And we’ll try to do more loving than hating

But still love Death evermore.
