Same Old

Same Old

A Poem by Sarah

When I think about you

It’s like twisted pipelines

Of stories that sound

Eerily like deception.

I can almost smell

The lies that pour out of

Your mouth.

He looks at you and I know...

I’m here in this place again,

You don’t want me,

Never did.

Won’t ever look my way

And wonder what if.

I chase for the same girl,

I don’t even look for them...

But they find me.

Alcohol thoughts

Swallow my conscious.

Unable to sleep,

I wonder the depts.

Of my soul-

Ask me

How not to sound like

A whiny b***h?

Everything I wanted more than

Anything

Were taking

Straight from my hands.

Isn’t there any decency anymore?

Yet again, I must say i love the way you convey your emotions. It makes a connection with the reader that draws us in. Yet again there is one line that i think interferes with the overall perfection of this piece. I believe "were taking" should be "was taken" I know it seems really picky to make that distinction but every work you write deserves to be grammaticality pristine. Over all though i really like this piece. In fact, I was taken aback by how fast memories of feeling this way came flooding back.
