i think it odd (the unintended second edition)A Poem by speakingcolorsi think it odd that our own words tempt us. they call to our heart, pulling at its strings, hoping that the knot will undo and all of our thoughts will spatter out down onto to floor. we want those words, the very words that threaten to destroy us. it's because we know what they are capable of that we shrink in fear when they take their position on the tip of our tongue. and yet, at the same time, we greet them with open arms, eager to feel the warm breath of truth, and that is why even after all of our reservations, we cannot help but succumb to the constant prying of our tired words. © 2010 speakingcolors |
