chasing the end

chasing the end

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

go ahead, guess. i dare you.

"

we're approaching it now,

this gateway to the other side.

i feel like there must be another way,

but it's too late;

we've nowhere else to go.

so in a last feeble attempt

to keep my self all in,

i hold my breath.

with a flash of change,

we are surrounded

by first a yellow light,

and then a white light.

the white lights stretch on

until forever,

the fires dancing across the ceiling

in a ballet of inaudible noise.

i look behind us,

still holding my breath

(i can't stand the smell,

that infatuating smell).

someone is following us.

they're all following us.

we're being chased

to the end.

just when i think

the flames and light will never meet,

my eyes are blinded

by a burst of the day.

we're through

and i can breath again.

Marvelous description of a drive through a long car tunnel.

-- the fires dancing across the ceiling

-- in a ballet of inaudible noise.

Great! I'm impressed by your write!

About
poet/songwriter/author sometimes I feel so much it hurts. i have all these thoughts running through my head, little segments of a whole that i can't see. most of them never get put down in writ.. more..
