G.E.M.

G.E.M.

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

This is a song about my grandfather. Please be gentle.

"

Laying on your bed

I sit here watching you

And it's not fair what you go through

'Cause your much too good for this

I hope that you get better soon

But I know that you prob'ly won't

And it pains me 'cause I might not see

You ever laugh like you did before

You're a good man, a simple man

But so helpless now everyday

And I pray for, I pray for the day

When I see you how you should be

Now in your graceful old age

You're forgetfull but not afraid

But always you remember

Your loving God above you

And if you should pass away

We shall mourn you but with a smile

Thinking fondly of the times

The treasured times we spent with you

And I leave you know to sleep

But I'll be back and if you're not

I will know, I'll understand

That you are in a peaceful rest

And I'll eagerly await the day

A time when hopefully

You'll be there to welcome me

Into your always open arms

Then we can sit and talk

And then maybe we'll take a walk

I'll play keys, you play guitar

And we'll sing on until the night

And so good night and good bye

As my tears fall I kiss your cheek

Then I turn to leave the room

And you'll always be in my heart
