The Bravest Man

The Bravest Man

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

I still find it hard to muster up the courage.

"

They are just five short simple words

But they can be so hard to say

They are just five short simple words

But they can take your breath away

I would like to ask them to you

Sitting there so pretty and fair

I would like to ask them to you

All I can do is sit and stare

You look up now, is it at me?

And I attempt to catch your eyes

You look up now, is it at me?

And then you blush to my surprise

I smile at you and you at me

As I begin to walk your way

I smile at you and you at me

And now all I can do is pray

"Hi" I say with a shakey voice

My, you look so beautiful there

"Hi" i say with a shakey voice

As I sit down next to your chair

I've got this far, I can't go back

We sit alone, I'm blushing red

I've got this far, I can't go back

I turn to you, you've turned your head

What should I do, I'll lose my nerve

I look at your hair, curled and long

What should I do, I'll lose my nerve

And then I hear the perfect song

I clear my throat, you turn to me

I know that you are worth the chance

I clear my throat, you turn to me

And I say, "Whould you care to dance?"
