The Price of Goodness

The Price of Goodness

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

I pulled inspiration from Bright Eyes (the band). It's about the state of the world today.

"

At the end of the world

A little girl stands

Looking over the edge

With fate in her hands

It's the fate of the earth

She holds now although

Dangling over ashes

That lay down below

She ponders over how

Innocence is bliss

But without that privilege

The world she won't miss

The wind blows through her hair

As she drops fate down

And in its own dark hate

The earth must now drown

Wiping dirt from her hands

She turns, walks away

Knowing that someday soon

She will have to pay
