Static Movement

Static Movement

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

I'm affiliated with Mavis Bard. This is my most Mavis Bard-ish song. I wrote it to be coupled with "Counter-Balance".

"

Stuck in some sort of static movement
I don’t know which way is up or down
The sign says stop but the light says go
I’m more confused than I’ll ever know

If I go west will it lead me east?
Is this a path I should take at all?
I could either give a cool fake smile
Or be myself with my own style

What we have
Is static movement
Movement that makes no sound
Makes no sense
This static movement
What can you do when you hit the ground?

To be or not to be is my mind
A muddled soup of muddled choices
Is it me and you or you and me?
Is what I want something I can be?

If I can’t work right through this strife
Then my static movement will become static life
A long drawn story with no plot
The life that you’ve made is the life that you’ve got

I’m in no need of that counter balance
I need to get back onto my feet
The train is leaving but I have no fair
I could take the leap but do I dare?

What we have
Is static movement
Movement that makes no sound
Makes no sense
This static movement
What can you do when you hit the ground?

What can I do?
I’ve hit the ground

Good work! You manage to keep the rhyme scheme flowing throughout the entire poem, a difficult thing. I really like it!
