A Poem by speakingcolors
"

I really love this. I'm definitely only slightly sane myself.

"

Only slightly sane
That’s what the man in the chair told me

As I talked to him
He wrote in his book
Two fifty an hour
That’s all that it took
For him to tell me
I’m only slightly sane

“Tell me about thee”
He says it so kind
But he’s bored with me
He’s made up his mind
That he will tell me
I’m only slightly sane

That’s not a degree
A license to label
Is what I perceive
To say I’m not able
So he says to me
I’m only slightly sane

I take these grey pills
Filled with emptiness
He sends me the bills
All he did was guess
And he told me that
I’m only slightly sane

Only slightly sane
That’s what the man in the chair told me

Ahhh, I have been there I think...if the pills will only let you remember the true moment of it all...a cleverly written piece. The interesing part of this is that psychiatrists and clergymen are the most insane of them all according to the psychology class I took in college. Actually, they apparently can't live with their own lives so search to help others. Great write. Succinct and telling. Thank you for sharing.

Oh wow.
I loved it. Veddy much. :]
I agree with the first reviewer that the repetition was excellent.
Just lovely. :]

I like the repetition of "I'm only slightly sane." It adds a nice edge to the poem. You should make a poem on the doc and make him completely insane. That'd be sweet.
