Mattie Town Charity Ball

Mattie Town Charity Ball

A Poem by speakingcolors
"

I struggled for awhile with the name of the town. I don't know if I'm even satisfied with what I chose.

"

Come one, come all
To the Henry Jay Hall
For this year’s annual charity ball
Come one, come all
It’s held every fall
Don’t forget your fancy black shawl

I’d like for you to come
Cause you look o so glum
It might not be your thing
But o what a great fling

There’ll be whiskey and wine
With you I’d love to dine
There’ll be a live jazz band
It will be so grand

We’re gonna sing the blues
You’ll need your dancin’ shoes
We’ll swing onto the night
And kiss ‘neath the moonlight

If you’re not the dancin’ type
I can bring my smokin’ pipe
And You can talk to the girls
And compliment their white pearls

I’m not the talkin’ kind
I hope that you don’t mind
Instead I’ll play cards with the gents
Betting my dollars and cents

So I hope to see you there
At such a lovely affair
At the local dance hall
This year's annual charity ball

Come one, come all
To the Henry Jay Hall
For this year’s annual charity ball
Come one, come all
It’s held every fall
Don’t forget your fancy black shawl

Come one, come all
Don’t just stand on the wall
It doesn’t matter if you’re short or you’re tall
Come one, come all
It’s sure to enthrall
An event that you’ll love to recall

Come one, come all
Come one, come all
Come one, come all
To the Mattie Town Charity Ball

Sexy. I'm telling you, this definitely needs to be played in the style of Irish rock! The tempo is unbelievably sweet. Don't deny it! I already played it in the key of G, and it was dang sexy! I know you're not listening to me, but don't worry. My persistence will pay off. I am sure of it. This one's for you.
