HELP IS HOPE

Bodies cold as ice laid on the ground

People screaming their loved ones names

Little kids seeking the warmth of their parents

Emotionally unstable, physically injured

Alive and breathing, but dead inside

Staring blankly ahead, trying to process everything

You hear it everywhere, you imagined everything

Losing a loved one, losing a life, losing hope

You couldn't stop a tear from escaping

How will they be able to stand up again? 

A little gesture but means a lot--A prayer. 

Faith keeps them fighting, it gives them hope

Words of encouragement can quench their sadness 

The victims just have to know your heart's with them 

A single penny can make a difference 

A single smile can give them light of hope 

Every little thing matters, every prayer works 

Share the blessings you received to those who need it

I KNOW THEY'LL STAND UP AGAIN, I KNOW IT BECAUSE I AM A FILIPINO!

Author's Note

I cannot stop my tears from falling while writing this. I've heard and seen in the news how horribly devastated some parts of Visayas in my country were, how thousands of people were dead and suffering. I just feel so sad everytime it flashes in my TV screen. But despite all these, I can still see them smiling through the pain and that made me so proud that I am a part of this race. I am also encouraging those people who can see this to please help and include all the Filipinos who are in sorrow in your prayers.Thank you. Filipinos will be forever thankful. :)

I had shed tears as well as soon as I had heard the news. I knew the storm was the strongest but I never knew the catastrophe is quite massive.

HELP IS HOPE

~ a well fitted title, I believed that we filipinos are Resilient people. We can make it through this. I as well my family was struck by massive floods just recently last dec 2011, in CDO. Thank God my family was safe at that time, but we have lost alot. and Many had died as well but not this much like in Tacloban. Now, seeing the number of help, I am thankful.... yet I am really disappointed with our government, sigh... they never fail to disappoint us, filipinos. Nice work, kababayan.

Filipinos are fighters, no amount of tragedies and sufferings can break our fighting spirit.I am absolutely disappointed with our government too, they are using the tragedy to their advantage. I'm glad your family was safe. I've been to CDO just a couple of days after the typhoon, I've seen the aftermath of it and it truly broke my heart. However, the beauty of your place is truly amazing even after the devastation. What happened in CDO is an example that Filipinos can stand up again. Yes,it was really massive. I remembered our employee, he told us how casualties are scattered everywhere and how Tacloban specifically looked like there was a wrecking ball that flattened all the stractures out. Thank you. Thank you a lot.

PS: I really love the jeepneys and taxis in your place. Every public transportation there are really designed creatively. :)
