How will I savor this dayA Poem by north starThis is the first sonnet I have written in years...I am rusty but wanting feed back from those who enjoy and understand sonnet...thanks for sharing your insightHow will I savor this day’s grace filled light? My heart and mind, flooded to overflow, Feared the fleeting nature captured by sight And losing God’s whisper if I’d let go. In the gray, uncolored minutes of life Lost to time, wounded, I embraced the night And dark so cold, to numb that caused by knife, Breathing only in hope to stay upright. And yet, muscle straining, each step I climbed Breathless stepping atop granite hard place Above valley shadows, limits, space, time. Now, how will I savor this light filled grace? I lean into your heart, feel warm, see light Even after my eyes are closed at night. © 2011 north star |
