Darkness Trhoughout

Darkness Trhoughout

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

The sky is covering itself in desperation,

The sweet intoxication of the wind comes clear…

And in the nightmares fighting the dark exasperation

The wind kicks sand into the blood shot eyes.

The sun is no longer as bright as it could be,

And in his sly descent it fights for its supremacy

But ultimately the wind will gain control

And dominate the suicidal world.

Vast emptiness will introduce itself,

And in its infinite wisdom it will teach us all…

Humanity’s quest for knowledge offers us no truth,

But all it does is takes us further into nothingness.

Oblivion shall come and say his greetings too,

In his fight for truth, he’ll blow our minds away

For all he knows about, is dark and cold and rain

And all he preaches to us is the quest for shame.

The sky is covering itself in desperation,

The sweet intoxication of the wind is clear…

And in our infinite quest to understand each other,

We lose track of ourselves and forget the joy…

And as we beg forgiveness on our knees on sand,

We lose track of the person who’s given us their hand,

For when we see the skies get dark and desperate,

We lose track of the sun that peeks behind the clouds.

Poem is very powerful. You made many strong points in the poem. We can lose site of the good things in a life. Not be able to the beauty of a day when blocked by hate and confusion. Poem is outstanding. Made me think. I like this kind of reading. Open up minds to think what is right or wrong in a life.
A outstanding poem.
