Delicate

Delicate

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

You're new to this picture, love...
I have not seen your face before.
And in your innocence, you seem too kind.
You snuggle close inside my warm bed
My shoulder, pillow to your sleepy head.
I do not mind your presence, dearest one,
Your nature is so shy, so delicate and I
Would help you darling
If anything around was there to harm you, dear.
You are safe now, at my side,
You don't have to talk
Unless you choose to speak
And if you speak my dear, do not speak quietly
For silence is the speech of a tortured soul.
Have no fear, my dear,
You're safe.
