Poem for the Lost

Poem for the Lost

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

Through distant thoughts and distant memories
You stay connected through my heart and mind...
Your name, a sweet tragedy
And at your feet, I once placed my heart.
You traded in my soul for an adventure
And through adventure you have lost it all,
Now look at you, what is it you hold
What is your passion now?
Throughout centuries they have admired
And I will miss my time with you as well
I keep returning to my first love, and I
Have found my heart still breaking.
In your grace I once bloomed as a rose
And in your crystal box you kept my heart...
The box has shattered another time.
Now that I look at it I realize
It made me strong and filled my heart with joy.
It made me weak and broke me yet again,
And at your feet, I lay my broken heart...
Because of you, I am stronger now.
I'll surely miss you, until we meet again,
Doc.
