Waiting it Out

Waiting it Out

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

So lost and confused, I don’t know where to start,

I blast the music in my earphones really loud.

I sit and wait and know the sting, of losing you… twice.

You know me better than I know myself sometimes,

And you know I’d die before I’d let anyone harm you,

But sometimes I just want you to trust me.

I’m sitting and waiting and overlooking the facts,

Taken for stupid, unwanted, unasked,

I’m not that silly, I know more than you think, if you’d trust me.

What happened to moments we shared everything,

Every conversation, every stupid dream,

When did “WE” change into “you and him”?

I miss you sometimes, when the world crashes,

And I can feel the energy escape through my body,

I wish we can turn back the time that we had, before them.

I miss being human, and being just us,

No dedication, no vampires or fuss…

I hope you miss me too.

We changed and we’re different but you should know,

I wouldn’t change a think about what we share…

Our secrets, our lives.

We’re growing together and we’re growing apart,

Boyfriends check, car check, cash check, we’re off…

Our roots always together.

I’m stuck in a rut, I swear I’ll crawl out,

Just give me a moment or twelve,

Maybe we’ll grow back together, so I’ll be waiting it out.
