Best Dream

The best dream I have ever had,

The best dream I could have ever come up with…

And I had to tell you that the best dream

Was the one you were in

And I have to tell you that:

 

You were dressed in your pressed uniform,

And you stood so completely straight,

I was pulled by our friend in the middle of the room,

I did not know what to, so I stared,

Awe struck and totally in love with you.

You held something red in hands,

I could see, there was covering it…

And you smiled, you came close

Pulled me in your arms and kissed me,

Then you kneeled and you smiled

You asked “Will you marry me?”

And my answer was…

“Of course.”

And that was the best dream I have ever had

And I regret waking up.

I liked the overall direction of the poem, in that is is about a woman who is awestruck by a person she is interested in, but I didn't feel that it flowed as well as it could have. There wasn't a consistent rhythm.
