Fake

Fake

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I never pretended to think you understood,

I didn’t attempt to wonder if you believed

The story I set at your feet quietly.

I look at you through crystal eyes,

And no emotion is set inside

Not towards the ones I care for.

And I’m impossible to handle,

And my emotions switch with his presence,

And I do believe you thought I’m me…

But who I said I am and who I am are different

As ice and water… same concept

The difference too powerful to ignore.

And forgive me if my words are too harsh…

And if my slap is bitter acid..

But I never attempted to imagine

You accepted who I seemed to be…

Forgive me if I deceived you…

But I’m fake, I have to be

So I can protect me.

Dang... you really vented out some emotions here... the end really got me... sometimes we all have try and be someone else so those close can't get any closer.
