Uninterested

Uninterested

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

She sits in the corner, her eyes to the ground,

Her hair falls in ringlets around her pale hands,

She holds something tightly, pressed against her legs,

A different idea of an amulet.

She looks in the darkness, a sensual pain,

Lifting her skirt another inch off the ground…

She reveals her white legs, and smiles at herself,

The scars he left resurface again.

She glares at the people, the men on their knees,

And softly, she touches, their begging lips…

She’d smile in an instant if they left…

And she softly talks to the voice in her ear…

A much better company.
