Not Halloween

Not Halloween

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

Take off the costume, let’s cut to the point,

It doesn’t matter the cold of the night is gone…

The jack-o’-lanterns are gone and asleep

All the kids have their candy to keep,

And all the black cats are retrieved.

Pull down your jeans and pull up your shirt,

Show me the reasons you’re feared

Take off the make up and take off the dress,

The masks you put on need to come off,

You’re finally defaced, this is not Halloween.

I could take the meaning of this two ways. The first is how people always hide behind who they are not. the second is that of someone in heat.

A great discriptive poem!

WOW you really let out some emotional steam... sounds like you are calling someone out and stop being fake... I know a few I could send this too. Very nicely done.

Me-sa like. Its time to stop pretending what you're truly not? I like the concept of the poem. :D
