Vote

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

Get off your lazy butt and go where you’re needed.

Overdrinking simple processes, it’s your choice.

Vindictive ideas are lost in space now

Onto a new path we march hand in hand

Together to decide, the new times are coming soon and fast

Everyone has the power to change the systems.

Inside your head, cobwebs are changed

Few other things matter now.

You can walk away, ignore your right

Out of the moment and you should believe

Under the weather is not excuse

Wonders created by men everywhere

Only a moment suspended in time

Nothing should stop you from making that choice

Take the time to go…

When can you take charge again?

How can we stand strong and tall?

Only by coming to this you can prove your strength

Who can change the future for us, the ones who can’t vote just yet

Intricate moments, it’s you who we trust

Little difference in how you stand as long as you’re certain

Let go of the laziness and go vote!

?

GO VOTE! IF YOU WON’T WHO WILL?

I want to thank you for writing a poem about voting for the presidential election, because I find it sick that more people vote for American Idol.

An historic moment A duty on every citizen to use his choice to decide between the two wh offer themselves as candidates for perhaps the most poweful position any man can hold
More of the same complete change ? Whichever you choose you must vote to register your choice
Not voting is not a protest but a vote given by default to the winner
The sytem is far from perfect but at least you can have some effect

These lines add a hopeful note to your exhortation. I like the way the questions in this poem lead us to reflect on our rights and responsibilities. Well done and timely--thanks!
