The Flowers

The Flowers

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I know the silent flowers are the ones that smell the best,

I know the tasty flowers are the ones that never fled,

I know the wild flowers you will never forget,

I know all the thorns you will take are fake…

I’m not the silent type, I like to speak my mind,

I’m not the tasty flower as far as being blind,

I am the wild flower, the one you won’t forget…

If you let me be the one I can be

If you let me play with the wind.

Will you let me, strive in the sunlight

And let me shine with the moon?

Give me a moment, not a moment too soon

And I’ll show you what makes me unique

Trust me, I can be the one…

But I’ll only give you a week.
