I

I

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I’m pulling my heart back, it’s not my bet anymore…

I cannot just let you take your large ax

And drop it repeatedly, carving it deeply.

I’m walking back now; this is not my world…

This is a choice I have and it’s the right one now.

Please forgive me; I cannot go through this game.

I’m convinced this gambling is not beneficial

And the wages have gone up sky high,

Going to keep my heart deep inside.

Damn what a outcry of heartache you expressed in this piece... I could feel my heartbreak just reading it... I hate to think these are your feeling right now but the piece is so well done.

Wow, what an image. This is gorgeous, really. I like how the title is just so simple and clean, 'I'. This poem is very easy to relate to because of how you word the feelings. Excellent job!
