Believe In Me

Believe In Me

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

The silver moon comes out to play,

In two more days she’ll be a new miracle…

Her silver rays crack through the window

To see me on my knees again.

Your words have cut me for the last time my friend,

Your lies have slit my neck and wrists, but have no fear,

They didn’t hurt as much as they once did

My shadows brought a friend to hide me.

And to him I run, tears streaming down,

Innocence shattered by your voice’s sound.

His arms around me, powerful and tight…

He’s here to pick me from the ground… when I say….

“I don’t believe I should be running for you,

My life was broken for the very last time…

And hugging gently will fix this bleeding,

Hugging me like you do is something I never deserve.”

But darling he does something you have never done,

He holds me tightly to his beating heart…

He smiles and kisses me when I need the love…

Someone finally believes I’m worth the effort.
