The open window

The open window

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I’ve been trying to wrap my silly mind

Around the cellophane excuses you feed me.

Pushing me into the alcove of a thought,

Pushing hard against my whispers, my demands

Pushing hard inside a world

You did not want to know about.

Releasing simple smiles and glaring into the darkness,

I can smell you from miles away, my dearest.

I can feel your fear and worry

I can taste the simple velvet textures…

Textures that signify a new change in blood pressure

I can taste the wisdom about to grow.

Sitting silently on the floor, knees pressed to my chest,

I think of a new beginning in which the world is kinder

And the sun radiates strangely through the open window,

A window kept there for providing hope and wisdom.

Window that is the only open door

To a world you never wished to know about.

From my point of view, a very well written and thought out piece this. The hidden meaning behind these words that are from the heart, will mean something to every one who reads it.

Wow Laura very deep... the world you never wanted to know about... funny how we can fall for those we never expect but when we do we are open to unlimited possibilities... a wonderfully written piece my friend. A lot of heart put into this one.
