BittersweetA Poem by Laura Sparkle
I love you to death and beyond, my darling. Eating hot coals for you would be no big deal, But I have to say that I’d follow you always To the end of the world and back in one breath. Death would be sweet if you asked me to fall, Throwing me close in the fire of pain All a pleasure, all a delightful surprise. When you’re near me tears sprint from my eyes, Joy beat my heart to a numbly consent. I adore you, my love. I would follow and lead… I don’t doubt you’re all I could ever need. A sinful sensation filling my lungs, Your every note and email and letter screams passion And I adore you my love. The distance is shattering me from the inside, And Colorado is so far from my arms… What stranger bed do you sleep in, my dear? What foreign arms surround your warm chest? When is that much needed return To where you belong, In my arms? © 2008 Laura SparkleReviews
