And if you dont come back, what happens to me then?

And if you dont come back, what happens to me then?

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

(“And if you don’t come back, what happens to me then?”)

Leaving for Iraq isn’t so bad when you have someone to come home to.

Someone to fight for, someone who would fight for you too.

It’s not so bad when you know that you’re loved,

And you’re missed every day and night.

It’s not so bad, is it?

Knowing you’re keeping your future safe…

But I would assume the emptiness expands without her,

And the moon doesn’t shine as bright without her by your side.

She’s safe, you have to trust that.

She’s looked after, and she’s loved.

Trust that she knows you love her, trust that you’re her world.

Trust it, because she needs you to.

You have the courage to die in a war that wasn’t yours to fight,

She respects it, and I need to remind you,

She’s yours.

She loves you.

Be safe, for her.

Go figure...38 views and nobody comments. I like it very, very much. It is full of heart and respect, as well as compassion for all those that sacrifice. Great job! Thanks for entering the Missing Him, Missing Her contest.
