No More Games

No More Games

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

You say you trust me, wouldn't hate me if you tried

Did you ever realize that you’re putting your life

In the hands of a liar, a cheater, a rapist, a killer

Who would stop at nothing to hurt her own heart?

Did you realize you’re alone at night when you wish you were not

And you’re quiet enough for the mice to show you the way?

How can you put your fate in my hands,

When I lie to you as well as myself when I say

I am confident it’s going to end up okay

The way it’s all supposed to be.

Didn’t you realize yet that I’m not who I say

But I am confident I have lost my way

And I wish I didn’t. No, not today…

This is a game I don’t wish to play

Any longer.

I agree with Aaron on this piece... It kind of made me think someone was staring at a reflection of themselves. We all lie to ourselves it's a known fact. This piece is very good. It flowed well and though i don't grasp all of it I know it has a good meaning (I don't know if that makes sense lol) Anyway, i really think this was very well done. The only thing i might change would be the end..

"This is a game I don't wish to play
Any longer." I would almost take out the last line and just leave it at "This is a game I don't wish to play"

Anywho... it's still amazing... Great Job!

Hmmm... I'm not sure exactly what this one is about?... It kinds sounds like it's someone speaking into a reflection that doesn't want to listen, and the the real person is doubting their own actions.

The reference to the game at the end, brought to me the idea of someone with multiple personalities that knows they exist but lets the evil ones come forward into this world all to much. And now they are trying to say no more.

Interesting write!

This poem is so biting. I love the intensity and the subject is interesting. It's a nice break from the poems about being hurt. You never really read the ones about people who do the hurting. ha. The form is good and it flows well. The emotion comes across perfectly. Well put together and a good read.
