You should knowA Poem by Laura Sparkle
You should know that when the lights go off all goes dark, The angels fled the bloody scene and leave behind the demons of the night. Vampires come quickly to feed upon innocent souls, And they leave behind pieces broken from the surface. You should know that when the sun sets all goes quiet, The sun’s rays escape and run for higher grounds, Leaving behind the shadows of the underworld, Letting all engulf the world, letting all go still. You should know that when the moon comes up I think of you, I count the stars near me and pull one closer to my heart, Then blow it away in the wind and let him bring it to you, Bring you the light in my eyes and the warmth in my heart. You should know that when I’m all alone and I watch the moon rise, Seeing her silvery rays swallow the motionless world that sleeps around me Makes me smile, knowing she is mine, My queen, my goddess and my one true guardian. You should know that when the wind blows and my hair quivers in its fury, I feel so safe, feeling his arms around me, The wind, my brother’s legacy… The wind, my guard, my safety net. You should know that when I sleep I dream of you, I send my love into the universe, and ask the wind to bring it to you, To cover you in all the adoration and devotion I feel for you, To make sure you’re happy and alive. You should know that when I look at the moon, I think of you. I like to think that you are looking too, When you look at the moon, think of me. © 2008 Laura SparkleFeatured Review
