HiddenA Poem by Laura Sparkle
Hidden behind dark curtains of scarlet, Two obsidian eyes looking down at the floor Analyzing, Scrutinizing, Agonizingly painful process… Realizing, Improvising, Indecisive little girl. Smiles spread across your innocent face, Pretending to hide away all the pain, The scars within her soul so visible, You’re selling your soul to make another happy. Analyzing, Improvising, Realizing all is lost again… Indecisive little girl, your pain is so obvious, So why are you trying to hide it? You would have fooled everyone too… If it weren’t for your eyes every now and then, When you think no one is watching you…. And you look away into the distance, When the wind blows and your eyes close… When you breathe in the sweet scent of the breeze… And you think no one is watching, The pain is so obvious when you look away Into the distance of a world you wish and dream of… Why must you insist on hiding away, The bloody corners will not move if you stay another day… You push all away from the surface, And you think all is lost within yourself. Why do you think scars are forgotten, When the love of your heart smiles again, When his joy seems to spread and fill your lungs, Like the night air you adore in the moonlight. Relax little girl, I can see you, Here to catch your every move, The blood will stop and the tears will dry up… A simple mistake of a world you stumbled into. Have faith little girl, if he loves you he’ll come… Stop hiding the pain, let it go. © 2008 Laura SparkleReviews
