Wedding Illusions

Wedding Illusions

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

Talking about tomorrow seems so easy,

You see a future in a place where I don’t.

So funny to see this “old kid” try…

So optimistic…am I leading you on?

Wedding bells singing in your puppy ears,

How can you believe we have a future?

We’ll do fine… just friends…eh

Sorry if anything’s going to hurt now,

The following statement quite cute,

Honest and painful, forgive me.

Enlighten me darling, what do you see?

Is it white and pretty and true?

Or is it white and calm and absurd?

Believing in me with reasons unknown,

“Love, adoration, obsessive, alone”

Do you remember my promise of truth?

Do you remember I’ll hurt you?

Decently lonesome, I do understand

Through thin and thick holding your hand,

Wish I understood what you see

When I hurt you, forgive me.

A view into a image that is unclear. We know not what the future holds, we hope and dream, but we never really know until things happen.
Reminds me of a girl that met this sailor, who loved the sailor to the depths of her soul, wanted to marry and live forever in his warm arms, He said that she would be pained in doing so. One day he...I shall not continue.
Good imagery, but with a twist in the end filled with doubt.

The real thing is not always the easiest way to go. But that is what makes life so much fun even when we are unhappy. This is very well written. I enjoyed reading it very much. Wonderfully penned. Great job.

Hehe, wow, very well said hun! Yea i agree with ya. Love needs to take it's time, and rushing into matters isnt the way. Ive seen a lot of people get married at such a young age, only to be divorced in a matter of months. Tis unfortunate and tragic. Curly Howard is an example. He was married 4 times, and it was hard times for him. But, as a fan, i respect him completely. For me, i'd wait til im like 27/28 or something lol. Just want to get my life started first...well, if i can do that ;)
