Just waiting....

Just waiting....

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

On the red rose petals,

Dripping blood in an endless rain...

Crying for a missing memory …

Sighing to the rhythm of the war drums.

Dreaming of the comeback you will have…

Not in danger yet... just training.

crying for a possible blurry future,

How I miss you.!

On the white rose petals,

Dripping salty tears on its innocence…

Trying to maintain sanity for your return,

Maintaining optimism for your come back.

Not too far away… just about 40 minutes,

The base quite close, but still too far…

I cannot hear your heart, come back.

Please, it’s been too long.

One week, one day, one minute,

A heartbeat too far, what to do now?

…just wait, make time my best friend

Tick-tock, tick-tock, I’ll just wait.

This is truly and wonderful walk through what goes through the minds and hearts of both parties. I like how you clearly brought the image across of the red and white rose petals.
Very well writen.
I liked the last stanza to, how often do we sit infront of the clock listening to it tic toc. Hoping for fate to swings things back to us.
Great Job!
May he stay safe, and swiftly return to your arms...
