White Queen

White Queen

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I’ve never felt so empty in my life,

So vacant and so terribly alone.

And sitting by my side the moon and sun,

I’ve never been so miserable and happy.

Sitting on the table and on my secret square

Watching the game evolve at it same pace,

My muses all deaf and blind and mute,

The white bishops finding their eternal way.

I love you both with hate and mercy

Everything you own belongs to me,

And like a black bishop capturing a white queen forever.

And rushing my way to the square you’re on,

And slowing down, don’t want to scare you yet

Sorry to inform you, but this end is checkmate.

A great analogy using chess as the game of life, your words speak of someone feeling they are trapped in a world they can't escape... going along with the move set forth by powers that be until you run out of moves... I know i've been in that spot, thats when you stat a new game cause you can't lose them all.

I love this, Life is a chess game, so true, that we sit and wait till we strike checkmate!
One white one black, oposites yet for ever tied in yin and yang.
With out one, we sit bored
With out the other we fall off.
Yet together life flows, from one match to another. Till we have learned what we are intended to.
Great Write!

While it speaks of a game of chess it's symbolic. I guess that's obvious.
The lines defined on the board reflect lines defined by an observer's life.
Not quite the White Queen. More than the wooden, metal or plastic figurine, although you do the empath gig nicely on her too.
I like it. Will read it again.

Fabulous word play..........chess and emotions............great flow throughout and great capturing
of imagination........

And like a black bishop capturing a white queen forever.

And rushing my way to the square you're on,

And slowing down, don't want to scare you yet

Sorry to inform you, but this end is checkmate.

Really enjoyed reading this............and the end climax, of course has to be check mate!
